I have some long canvases, think Im gonna paint a background for EM and put the canvas behind her viv. Make her an original background. Oil paints and a clear acrylic coat on top...then air dry it for a week or two, to allow the smells to dissapate in it. Just trying to decide what I wanna paint for him/her! If a her would do a fairy tale/nursery rhyme type background.

I think that's a wonderful idea! What about generic fairy tale/nursery rhyme themes? An enchanted castle could work for both genders.

I could do that but was thinking along the lines of a "wind in the willows" background..trees, acorn boats with leaf sails, tables and chairs that are thimbles, mushroom houses with caterpillars on them and smokestacks, tiny wells and giant flowers with dewdrops on them shading the little mushroom houses. Something like this. These are just doodles but would love to do a background like them for Em.

I love all of your ideas. Which ever you choose, it will be beautiful. The wishing well really caught my eye though. There's something whimsical and comforting about it. :love5:

That's the word, I want something whimsical for Em as a background, unlike anyone elses. Could paint a small whimsical fairy castle thats formed out of a tree. I am teaming with ideas but has to be whimsical.

Geico and Ems phoenix worms arrived...400 small and 400 large...em ate 4 plus her veggie slurry and her dubia....Geico ate his 10 worms, his dubia and a butterworm, and a small veggie slurry since hes still only taking a bite or two of his veggies. So now my babies are fed, fat and happy...now I can play a bit...dogs been let out and my kitchen cleaned...so Im fat and happy lol.

Well I have started Em's background. Since her carpet is sand colored, Ive made her a little oasis and going with a whimsical beach theme.

Oh, Tonja! That beach chair is too much. Just perfect I was so very upset about my washing machine beating up Em's poor Turtle. Now I'm just thrilled I sent the Dolphin! It really is cute, just right for cuddling into. (though, it will take about 3weeks to get there :roll: ) I can't wait to see the background! I've never seen that theme for a beardie baby. This is exciting!

Im thinking blue sky and clouds, then the beach and water with dolphins jumping in pairs and a scattering of small sail boats with bright sails and a couple of beach houses thrown in with a few towels and umbrellas on the beach. Maybe a palm tree or two in one corner of the background. So you see the dolphin is perfect...I just want something totally different from anyone else.

I had an idea! :idea: I thought about those coconut hides, but then thought Em would grow out of it too quickly, I know that hot glue is non toxic, so, what about just getting coconut shells, and using them as supports for one of the branches or vines? Just something extra like a step for climbing. Which ever you choose I know it will be fantastic! Can't wait to see the finished look!

oh that would be perfect...ill have to look for coconut hides...I have a nice scallop shell im gonna make her a little stool out of it.

Finally got the tile laid in Em's viv...so much easier to clean than repti carpet. I chose a darker tile for Em's viv since Geico's tile is light in color.

Em is a bit stressed today with a head shed, poor baby is shedding all around her mouth and nose, one nose plug fell out in the bath and the other is puffing in and out, shes rubbing her little head all over her basking log. Shes so tiny you cant see the shed till it sticks up. My baby is growing, her first shed since I have had her.
