Oh My Goodness!!! I sat down today and read this entire thread. I have a thread in the ER section. I think mine has yellow fungus, but I will know more after the vet appointment Tuesday. He is 2 hours away, but came highly recommended from the vet I use for my mastiff mix who has joint problems.

Sue, you are absolutely wonderful!! There's such a huge difference between the first pictures and the last ones and in a GOOD way too!! I hope she gets a clean bill of health from the vet soon. Is she still in her hospital apartment or have you been able to move her into her mansion?

Welcome Cynthia!! The whole thread?! That must've taken up quite a bit of your day! Thanks for the kudos... Dino is doing much better than she was a few months ago! :blob8: I still have her in the studio apt... I'm still suspicious about her eye. It's not 100% yet so, I don't want to take any chances. I sure hope Stone doesn't have YF. I had such a hard time finding a good reptile vet, (as you know now because YOU READ THE WHOLE THREAD! ) I hope the vet you go to is a good one, especially where he's 2 hours out! UGH! I'm on your thread now so, I'll be updated!!

Oh yes, a very large part of my day but well worth it. I learned A LOT and I really hope I don't have as many problems with vets as you did. My first question to the receptionist at this one was how big a percentage of his business was lizards. She said about a third with snakes making up half. Given that I drive almost an hour and a half for my mastiff's vet and the hard time I had finding him, I know it's worth it to find one that's willing to work with you to figure out what's going on with the baby. He's so young and so small, I hope Stone has a different fungus than yellow... one that's easier to treat. I'm very hopefully and wishful thinking most of the time....

Wow, Sue, those latest pics look wonderful! I know you're still concerned with her eye but she's such a changed dragon from the first pics you posted. It's just wonderful :blob5: :blob8: :blob5: :blob8: :blob5:

Yoshi's thread still makes me cry... :( I just went to it and read some of it, got to the end, cried. Can't believe how attached I got to that little guy in 2 months!

It's amazing how little it takes to get attached to dragons, they are such different types of reptiles. I can understand how you fell, Sue, and I"m so glad that you were successful with Dino, look at her now! I just read Chris's facebook page about Gimpy and Grumpy and was so glad to hear that there's no yellow fungus, what a great relief. I'm just sooooo lucky that I've never gotten anything like that with my boys. It was bad enough when Sweetie died, had too many eggs and got low calcium, affected her bones badly, so when she got sick she had nothing to fight with. All that I'm fighting right now is Leo's mouth, he's got mouth rot but it's from not swallowing all his food, so I just finished 3 weeks of rubbing an anti-biotic on his gums front and back with a q-tip, that was quite a job, he wasn't very pleased, talk about stink eye every am. See the vet on Sat Mar 2 to see if it's gone, but I don't think so, I think it's going to be another round of meds.

I'm hoping her eyes clear up completely and those two lesions just drop off, then the fight will finally be OVER!

When is your daughter off to sing? I'll have to backtrack to check on the dates. Wish her good luck from us all!

Ohhhh Deb, The things we do... all for the love of a reptile! :love5: I think my first lenghty conversation thru PM was with Amanda or Kelly and either she or I said, "I never thought I'd fall in love with a reptile!" I was relieved not to be "the only one"! :laughing6: I know for a fact that I'm not the only one who's cried over my little Dino... we've had some scary times and she's got some really caring friends here! :love10: I hope those scary days are all behind us now! When we lost Spike (profile pic), my son and I were just devastated. She was so lovable and so stinkin' cute. She went suddenly though... no long struggle there or long illness. :( Your poor Sweetie, I can tell you still miss her. Were her eggs fertile, did any hatch out? I saw Chris' post too, very relieved to hear that news! :D I wouldn't wish this crap on ANYONE! I sure hope Leo's mouth clears up soon, that can't be comfortable for him. It's so frustrating how long their little bodies take to get rid of a problem. I always have to remind myself: Reptiles heal verrrry slooooowlyyyy. :angry5: Gotta have the patience of a Saint with these little buggers! That's not my strong suit!
My daughter is performing again this Saturday with the All State Chorus in Boston at Symphony Hall. There will probably be over 200 kids in that chorus. The way these directors bring these kids together in just a couple days is absolutely, freakin' amazing. They sound like ANGELS!! It's incredible to see and hear. She has to learn a German song, a Latin song and maybe some Spanish. I'm pretty sure there's 3 songs that are a foreign language. I don't know if they know WHAT their singing, the important thing is they know HOW to sing it! The NY trip is in April. Can't wait for that! I've never been to NYC, I'm so excited... I actually ran over to the high school tonight to watch her and 3 of her friends sing the Star Spangled Banner before the basketball game tonight. Paid the 7 bux to get in just to watch them sing, then I left. :laughhard: I don't like basketball... AT ALL! I'll tell her Dino's friends send her luck!!

Awww, that's great that your daughter's doing so well with her singing. Will there be a tape made of her singing at any point, would love to listen to her. I'm so glad you'll be with her when she sings in Boston and NYC, do you think she'll want to sing as a career? Maybe she can get back on American Idol and win! That would just be awesome!

I can't get over the tough fight you and Dino have gone through to come out the other side so positively. I am just so proud of both of you, especially you for your determination. It's amazing what we do for our beardies, as much as we'd do for our kids, they just get into our hearts :love5:

She looks absolutely amazing. What a great job you have done for her. She is definately not the same lizard from the first pictures you posted. I cannot get over the transformation in Dino. She has an amazing mommy who put a lot into her and a lot of effort and expense. All beardies should be so lucky. Be proud of yourself, I told you the light at the end of the tunnel was very close :blob8:

Thanks Cyn! I'm still skeptical about it, I'm probably gonna call them and have it checked again. It looks to be more watery than it should be. In fact when I was giving her her meds over the weekend, (alone because my son was gone for the weekend snowboarding with his friend-he's usually my assistant!) she was fighting me, shut her eyes and a drip ran down her face. I don't think that's any good. :? So, I put some ointment on it Sunday night. I've only got a tiny bit left so I'm gonna do every other night til I get her seen again. No big deal though, I can handle ointment. It's when she has to take FOUR oral meds that kills me!

Let me know what happens, I don't think that wet is good either. Poor Dino, but at least the Yellow Fungus has been conquered!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
