That is such GOOD NEWS about Dino, I'm so glad to hear she's almost finished with the cream, that her eyes are improving, that those scabs are going to drop off & good luck with her year. That is awesome about your daughter, she must have the voice of an angel to do so well in all she's been doing and maybe one day she can become am Americal Idol. You never know! You must be so proud of both of your girls. I'm in awe with all the good news! Congrats, Mama, you've done both proud!

So now that her eyes are better are you able to cure where the skin is raw? Poor Dino, she looks like she's been through a war, which she has & won. I just want to hug her to pieces!

The pictures do make it look a bit more on the pink/raw side than it actually is. It's a very light, light pinkish white, actually. So it is still healing, but it's all closed up and nothing is "raw" anymore, like when she was debrided that time, happy to say! So, it's basically a waiting game now. I don't like waiting... never have, never will!

I'm so glad to hear that, it did look worse in the pictures. I know about waiting, I don't like waiting for something to heal, either!

Dino looks wonderful compared to previous pictures, you have done a wonderful job with her. The eyes do look a lot better with no crust over them. I am happy for you and dino that this ordeal is almost over. You have reached the preverbial end of the tunnel and I am happy for you.

Hey Sue! Looking at Dino's pictures tonight, the word that came to me was "patient." Usually I am reminded of her will to live, or her being a fighter, but tonight it was different. She looks wonderful. You must be so happy!

Dino looked all dark and blah when I got home from work tonight. She brightened up a bit after I gave her meds and lubed her up. She was fighting me a little bit tonight. Fight = Energy = Good in my book. I wasn't even planning on trying to give her anything to eat cuz she was in the same spot all day and I figured, maybe she felt yucky from having "real" food yesterday. Maybe it was a little tough on her tummy. Well, I took the tongs out and reached into her tank to get an escapee from yesterday and WOW, she was watching them like a HAWK! I was getting that one out and just combining containers of worms!! Where she was so enthusiastic about seeing the TONGS I figured, ok, let's give her some worms. WOW did she woof those supers down! LIGHTNING QUICK after them!! Must be nice to be able to SEE finally!! 8) So happy to see her accurately tagging them and that ravenous appetite!! :blob5:
So, the reason for my post; Got a question: Is it okay if Dino ends up eating some of that raw honey? I know it's "honey", but you know, it's unpasteurized and what not... I've been using it under her eyes a little bit and it runs along the top of her mouth. Well, tonight she tasted some and started smackin' her lips! I just wanted to be sure it's safe for consumption! It's the manuka honey that Tracie sells... She's so busy, I figured I'd just ask here and someone (like AHBD  ) might know.
Yes Esther and Deb... patience is a virtue. Patiently waiting... to reach the end of that tunnel Tonja talks about... that's how I roll! NOT! :? I've said it before and I'll say it again: Reptiles heal frustratingly sloooooowww! :|
Deb, I know all about patience and healing with the humanz too... my husband had knee replacement in September. Let's talk about not losing my patience with the PATIENT! O.M.G. I hope you're being a GOOD patient and keeping that foot elevated to knock down that swelling and not doing things your not supposed to be!! Feel better soon! <3

Hi Sue, yes I'm being good & I'm also not going back to work until Feb12 to make sure the ankle is healed as much as possible before I'm sitting all day. I got compressions stockings and a great cushion that's made for wheelchairs to reduce the cutting off of the blood supply to the upper legs, so I'm sure that will all help. Yes, I know what it's like to have an ill hubby, talk about bad patients, but glad he had that done, bad knees are no fun either. I saw my doc today and she agreed I should wait the extra 1 1/2 weeks, told my manager that's what needs to happen as I'm not going through another swollen foot again. So all should be good this time. Better be.

I'm so glad Dino's able to see clearly and that her appetite has returned. So do you think she was all dark because she was hungry? I don't think it's going to hurt her to get a taste of that honey, but you should PM Tracie, just in case. She always checks her PMs and would know more than me.

I'm glad I"m taking my boys to the vet on Friday, they're past due a wellness check anyway. I'll let you know what the vet says when I get home again.

What good news all around!!!!

It must be such a relief to be able to finally enjoy Dino as a pet and not a patient as well as focus your happiness on your daughter. What a great accomplishment!! I was in a "show pop" group (think Glee) when I was younger (um...well over 25 years ago lol) that did really well in regional and national competitions. Those are memories that I will cherish forever. Your daughter will do the same - what a great experience!!

Enjoy NY!

That is such good news, you must be so relieved. Give her a big hug from us. For you, I'm sending you a medal :love5: The love kind, as you just did everything you could for Dino and look at the result!

Hello Sue,

Dino is looking wonderful & so happy now! She must know that her fight is finally coming to an end & she can have a normal life again soon.
She is one lucky girl for sure. I am so relieved & happy for you both. :blob5:
At least she ate some worms like there was no tomorrow too. I bet she was really excited!
The honey doesn't taste too bad though.

Well, today she ate TWICE! Breakfast and then when I got home, my son said she was hanging around her dish, so I gave her some supers. Gobbled 'em up!! :headbang: Awesome!! I'll hafta see if I can find a store with some crickets. When I went on Sunday, they only had smalls. Large ones all died in shipping. We have a cricket shortage here in the Northeast, did'jya know that?! Damn things keep dying during shipping cuz it's too cold for 'em!

So, Photobucket made some changes and, man, lemme tell ya, it's friggin' ANNOYING! :banghead: I keep trying to post the pics to the album linked below and if you don't remember to SELECT the album, even though you're IN THE ALBUM, it puts them in the general library. OMG... Then my laptop slows down, the website gets "stuck", I have to get out of IE. AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!! So, these pics aren't in the link below, they're SOMEWHERE else with the others I just uploaded! I hafta go move them when I have more patience... I'm all outta that right now! :angry5: Anyway, here's a couple pics!

Notice the 99% empty food dish in the corner! :D

So go back to Photobucket and you can get back on the old system. That's what I did and sent a notice to Cust Service that their new Photobucket sucked BIG TIME.

She looks wonderful and her eyes are clear, and SHE'S EATING! YEAH for Dino and you, Sue, what a battle you've both been through. So is the STAPH infection all gone now, too? I wasn't sure.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
