digging

hey everyone i was just wondering why my 6 month old male keep going in his hide mid day and starts digging (nothing as i use a type of comfy shelf liner instead of sand bc of impavtion issues) i have two in the same tank boy and girl i know alot of u might bash me for it but ive had them from a young age the both of them and i make sure they do everything togwther so none feels left out and theirs about 6 diffrent places to bask in my vivaranum theirs an under tank heater PARTIALLY under the hide to keep at a lil warmer in their, WHYS HE DIGGING IT WORRYS ME

Hi Devyn....nice pic of them in the sun Is the smaller one the male that's hiding ? I won't bash you but others might...BUT, i will tell you that there is waaaaay too much of a difference in size. Your larger dragon will one day most likely take a foot or tail off of your smaller one or even crush it's head. It doesn't matter what sex they are, they usually will bite a smaller dragon. Even though they seem to get along, one day that can end. Many experienced owners will tell you that, and I not only have owned dragons for over 20 years, but I've hatched + raised loads of them. Be safe + put the bigger one in a new tank. The one who is digging/hiding may be afraid or just feel uncomfortable for some other reason. It may even be too hot with the UTH in there...dragons will dig when they are too hot sometimes.

Might just be too hot, but it's still important to separate them. Can you post a pic of their set up ?
