I'm planning on getting a bearded dragon( a juvenile) but how many times a day should I feed him and how many crickets a day and how much greens and water? And can you answer the same questions for an adult?
A baby should eat live feed 2 or 3 times a day as much as they want to eat in about 10 minutes... is the general rule. For mine that is about 15 crickets a feeding, around 25-30 crickets all day, Plus about 10 phoenix worms as well. Greens, that is as much as they want to eat. I would say mine probably eats about 1-2 tablespoons of chopped up greens and vegies a day... sometimes less as he is just beginning to eat those. Water, they don't really drink water and should not have a dish in their house. You will need to soak it in a warm
bath at least every other day. They will sometimes lap up water then but for the most part they absorb the water through their vents (in their bum). Otherwise they get moisture from their food. Babies eat about 80% live feed and 20% greens and an adult eats about 20% live feed and 80% greens. The amount really depends on the dragon but most adults can be feed live feed about 3 or 4 times a week.
