Dexter - bit of blood between urate and poop...

Dexter NORMALLY poops like clockwork, between 08:00 and 09:00.  There is always a poop to clean up by 09:00.

Yesterday he didn't poop by 09:00.  He pooped after 16:30, after we fed him his locusts.

In between the urate and the poop was about 1.25ml of blood. :(

His eating habits have either become sporadic, or he's FINALLY realised that he needs more veg than bugs.

Over the past few weeks, he's been eating less bugs and more veg, but some days he doesn't touch either.

The day before yesterday, he ate a lot of butternut squash and 4 bugs.  Yesterday he had butternut squash and 9 bugs, about 5 minutes after his bugs at 16:20, he pooped, there was blood between his urate and poop.

He's not leaking blood from his vent at all, was just that instance where it was in his excrement.

As it took him a belly full of bugs to poop, could it simply be that he was/is impacted?

The locusts that I purchased to feed him have now grown an "instar" bigger, Live Foods call them extra large, (the size before they reach adulthood) I bought medium/large, but with Dexter cutting down so much on his bugs, (he was on anything between 10 - 15 a day) they've grown quicker than we can feed them.

Could his bugs now be slightly too big for him to cope with?

I welcome any input, if you require a run down of his behaviour, eating habit, pooping or anything, I can give you them, as I still do his spreadsheet, recording everything I need to.

Hoping that it's just a slight impaction, which has now cleared?

BTW, I gently felt his tummy and downwards towards his vent, there were no abnormal lumps.

Edit 10:01 - Dexter just done normal poop and urate, no signs of blood or any other problem. All food seems well digested. (broke it up to inspect)

Just to be safe you should get a fecal sample tested. Blood in the stool could be a sign of hook worms.

Definitely blood? My dragons do spectacularly revolting poops after eating beetroot or even red lettuce...

Dexter doesn't have any red staining food in his diet, I'm in no doubt it was pure red blood.

I've ordered some smaller locusts (50 off for £10.something pence) from a local supplier to collect on Saturday, as I don't have money prior to this, until then he'll have to have a few days of just veg.  I'm not risking feeding him the bigger ones (XL) again. :(

Hmmmm. I had purchased them in bulk (100 from livefoods) to make them better value for money, but Dexter has REALLY cut down in bug intake, buying in bulk is no longer feasible, my other half ends up with the grown on ones, and he's too tight to purchase me smaller ones, to make up for the free ones he gains from me! lol

Unless he can get them from locusts, there's no way he would get any worms? Simon's food prep is immaculate.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
