Cool food before feeding

I bought some butternut squash for my little guy and I’m just wondering, does it need to be cooked before giving it to him or is it ok raw?

It's fine raw; that's how they'd encounter it in the wild (if they did--IDK if squash grows in the Outback).

It's OK to serve cool too.

Because winter squashes are so hard, I just run it across a large hole grater instead of cutting into dice. Same with carrot and sweet potato. I guess I'm a little over protective, they just seem a bit hard to eat in chunks. Lol! ?

This brings me to another question. I buy the “spring mix” bag from Walmart but I feel like it has spinach in it. What do you guys feed your dragons for greens?

I just buy bunch of greens, whichever looks the freshest. Could be collards or turnip greens. Got Kale last time.
The spring mix has spinach I believe. Not something that's supposed to be fed often as I understand it. Prob a little once in a while is ok.

IIRC, spring mixes often contain a lot of lettuces(?) Also not recommended, but only because some--like iceberg--have little/no nutritional value.

You can use the table here as a guide.
I'm still having trouble finding stuff ZaRDoZ will eat. He seemed to nibble at turnip greens, but I haven't been able to find any locally in months. We put a new plant in his enclosure the other day (don't recall what--it was beardie safe, but not a "food" plant) and he chowed down on it. OTOH, there are a half dozen basil plants in there, and he ignores them. He does seem to like cilantro, and I use it to get him started on other greens. He's a challenge in most ways; I keep looking in the mirror, pointing to myself, and mumbling, "Smarter than lizards!"... but... :dontknow:

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
