Color Change With Age

What color do you think this little guy will be when he grows up? Do beardies usually gain or lose color as they get older?

Their general patterns and colors are about the same (he will likely keep orange and brown highlights) but the brightness of the colors seems to vary a bit over time as they grow. His head will lengthen as he gets older (I miss the cute little round heads) but things like the circle markings along his back will always be there.

My last beardie and current beardie's colors both brightened and lightened a little as they grew to adults. Norbert had a white/grey beard like yours as a baby, but now has a vibrant orange beard. Their patterns and markings did stay the same, though.

My experience is beardies as hatchling and juveniles are much more expressive and show their happy colours more often and much more intensely than they do as adults ….

It's hard to tell, but judging by the orange by his ears, he may develop some orange on him. It's tough to tell without knowing what his parents look like. Do you know his genetics?

I do not know his/her genetics or what the parents looked like unfortunately

Beardies can change immensely as they grow, there's no way of knowing the final coloring unless you've seen the parents. Even then it can be a guess . But a dragon that is from high color parents will grow brighter as it gets older in most cases. Babies sometimes but usually don't have the intense color until they are more mature. Here's one I hatched + raised years ago. Was nothing like this at hatching , developed the color as he grew.
