Right now I pay $20 per 1000 twice a week at a local store here in San Diego. Does anyone know where I can get them cheaper in SoCal shipped to me?

mulberry farms has a sale going...I have used them with good success in the past. They allow local pickups, and offer cash discounts. I wouldn't be suprised if you could get 1k for $10....especially with how many you buy.

I checked their site and they still want $14 per thousand and with shipping it will probably cost the same as what I am paying now. I am about 30-40 minutes away from them so it's not worth driving there once a week.

Thanks though, I will give them a call and see if they can work some kind of deal with me.

Not sure if the crickets are for the little ones or not, but have you tried supers? You could buy larger quantities, as they last much longer than crickets. Nice site btw, I love your dragons!

LLLreptile is also in sd, 30 mins is cheaper driver then it is for shipping, 30 mins is what 20 miles, 20 miles and an avg of about 20mpg, cost you about 2 bucks. . . if you go in with cash they prob wont charge tax either.

rainbow is like 15 mins from me and its 16 out the door for 1k

It's often difficult to find feeders in your area.... sometimes ordering is the way to go. Of course with ordering, its the shipping that kills everyone.
Here, I compared some cricket prices at online stores.... you can check out where these places are located and maybe find one that will ship to CA for cheap.

I found this place in Lakeside which is about 20 miles from my house which isn't so bad a drive. $10 per 1000 and just packaged for me right before I picked them up so when I opened the box it was all crix and absolutely no crap. That was nice. And both boxes were way over the 1000 count. I usually go through 2000 a week and I picked 2000 up last Sunday and just finished my first 1000 today. Of course they were bigger than I usually buy so that probably helped but there were definitely way more than a 1000 in there.

And if I want them to ship, they said they can box them up on Monday morning, ship later that day and I should get them by Tuesday for $8 no matter how many I buy so $28 is still a lot better than $40 I was paying at my local store.

Great find. Thanks for tip...

I just ordered 1000+ from mulberyfarms.com in CA for $15.95.

I usually buy them at a local pet store for about $7.00 for 5 dozen. I picked up a 10 gallon tank yesterday and ordered Cricket Food and a water dish & bottle from them. As I've never had so many crickets I was wondering is there anything else that I need to do to keep them alive until I feed them all to my 3 baby beardies?

just keep the dead and molts picked up clean the poop and keep plenty of food and water in with them. there are numerous posts as to the care of crix. do a search and you will find plenty of info. picking up the dead is one of the main concerns since a dead cricket will release toxins that will kill others. Also make sure you have places for them to hide such as egg flats tp rolls paper towel rolls.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
