Can I paint our viv? If so what kind of paint should I use?

We built a viv for our soon to be new addition to our family. Can we paint it? Or will it hurt him? If we can what kind of paint should we use?

I can't answer that for sure. I think you might want to go with water base paint instead of oil based, but this is just because my husband was a sign painter and I'm thinking that the oil based stuff will/may bring fumes that might harm your beardie, but then there may be some fumes connected with the water based also. If you do paint the viv, you should make sure to air it out for several days. I'm not an expert on this by any means, so I would wait for other people's input

BTW: I was wondering something, do you live in Tombstone, AZ? I noticed your screen name and the note on your signature line and couldn't help wondering.

Yes, it is. We have only had females, Rosie is our only beardie left. We live about 30+ miles from Tombstone. I've lived in the greater Sierra Vista area since 1968 (except for 3+ years in Iowa).

If you are going to paint you need a ZERO voc paint...very few local stores sell it so don't bother. I bought mine online...a brand called Ecopaint. It's safe for animals, babies, and reptiles lol. It takes temps well over 125 with NO smell or vocs.
