Sandi,
Bella has the same "sausage like covering" over her BM at times as well, I occasionally see it with the boys too, just figured it depended on what they ate. :dontknow:
Digger gets this membrane after eating superworms, he's been getting this since we've had him and it's been over 6 years, never worried about it and the few times he pooped at the vets and had it they never mentioned it, so for him I guess it's ok.
Well I guess its just one of those weird beardie things! They are mysterious little creatures.
I was hoping it would be warm enough to take her outside today, but no dice. Honestly, after reading about Stuart being taken by the hawk, I'm not sure I want to take her outside. That post has haunted me since I read it. It made me cry and cry, and I don't think I'll ever feel safe taking her out. She'll be on my lap at all times if I do.

Christine....."sausage like covering"...eek....I don't think I will ever look at cocktail weenie's the same again :bleick:
Sandi....I had a hard time with Stuart being taken by the hawk also. I could not get the image of it out of my mind last night. I had my son read Frank's story, because we have alot of hawks around here. That is something we have always stressed....not to take your eyes off of her for one moment, those hawks are fast and have no mercy.
We had a nice cuddle last night. I was holding her on my chest while watching TV, and she ever so slowly crawled up and then rested her chin on my chin, and her little hand on the side of my face. She stayed there for quite a while too! It was really sweet... until she bit my lower lip. She didn't break the skin but it gave me quite a start! Silly little girl. :love5:
It sure didn't feel like a kiss! But if it means she wants to voluntarily eat something, I'm happy with it.
She has pooped once since the superworm, and she's due for another one pretty soon. Her belly is getting pretty fat. I'm hoping she'll go in the tub tonight. If not... it's off to the vet tomorrow morning for the procedure.
No, I haven't given her any more superworms. I wanted to make sure she could digest them properly first. I didn't cut the head off the one I gave her. If it gives her any issues then I'll start doing it. I'm sure my darling girl has pooped all over her stairs (the hardest part of her viv to clean) while I'm at work, and I'll have some baked on poo to clean up when I get home.
She pooped for me tonight, and I'm glad to say that there was absolutely no trace of the superworm. No head, no shell parts... no nothing. Yay Cam! And let me tell you... digging through the poop of an animal that only goes every 5 or 6 days is truly a labour of love! :bleick:
I'm glad to hear the superworm is fully digested, that is good news! And congrats on the cuddle, but not the love bite, ouch. Our bunch says Hi Campbell Jane, biting isn't necessary, our owners make good slaves and take good care of us...but biting sounds interesting!
Awe, CJ is warming up! That's great news. Slowly but surely she will bond with you!
Where is the post about Stuart!?! THAT MUST BE DEVASTATING!!!! Actually, maybe I don't want to read about it because my heart just can't handle anymore sad stories. You know, my beardies are always looking up at the sky when they are outside, and they try to make a run for it if they see birds.
Have you given any more superworms since CJ digested the last one?
