Hello,

How old is Scarlet? She is just now going into brumation? That is odd. Usually they go in earlier than this.
What is your UVB lighting like, what type & brand do you use? Is it a flourescent tube bulb or a compact or coil light?
For now, you can turn off the UVB light & leave the basking light on if you want to. She may come out in a bit, you just never know. They all do different things.
Is she healthy enough to brumate?

scarlet we believe is around 6 months and almost 15 inches. We think she wanted to go into it all winter long because she ben doing this for close to 2 months. as far as uvb's im using a new 10.0 reptisun and a 6 month old one as well. 2 long fluorescent tubes. i turned her uvb off and i have her light on very dim "using a dimmer" inside her tank her basking spot is in the 82- 85 inside her hide it stays around 75-78 never going below 70. she looks pretty healthy "335 grams" and is active when we take her out and play with her. shes eating at least once a day.
"how long does this normally last"
"also her her back nails are down to the toes, we think its because she always trying to get out of her tank and she stands of her hind legs and reash up and jumps.

Hello,

Did she go into brumation on her own, or did you dim the lights after she went into her cave? At 6 months that is fairly young to be going into brumation, but some do. Her weight is not too bad but you will need to watch & make sure she is not losing any weight as she still needs to grow some.
Brumation varies greatly from dragon to dragon. She could come out in a few days or a few weeks, it really is hard to know.
If you are feeding her, then you need to bring her out of brumation & increase her basking to 95-110. It is not recommended to feed them during brumation especially with lower temps such as what you have her at. She wont be able to digest her food properly & that will cause health problems.

She went into it on her own. She's been wanting to for a long time now, but we always take her out of her cave and we don't let her get to deep into it. So after she started hiding we killed the uvb lights and we dimmed her spotlight all the way down to where it's only on a little bit. I wasn't feeding her but the day she went in her hide and hasn't come back out yet she ate A LOT. like she ate a man's-handful of blueberries, a medium romaine & dandelion salad and about 20 dubia's, which is a lot for her to eat at one mealtime.

i want her out of brumation, but i dont. because i have no one to play with lol but i want her to be her animal, ya know.

Raise his/her basking temp to 105f to 110f and the cool side should be around 80f to 85f might be why he/she has slowed down. Thats the proper temps for a young beardie.

I know the feeling..... my little Kazi is desperately trying to squeeze in 40 winks before spring and I am desperately trying to stop him. But I guess if its what they want to do there is nothing we can do to stop them :(

hi try givin her warm baths as if she has ate a lot the day she started hidin then you need to get that out or her other wise it will rot inside and cause problems . keep her head up x but keep her vents under for her to rehydrate x

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
