Even though we are still mourning our little Spike, he led us to our new luvbug, Boodah! I don't know if I am supposed to say, but we visited with Tom of TND Dragons today. He was wonderful and has the most beautiful dragons who are very well loved and cared for. Tom and his wife are so friendly and welcoming.

Here are the first pics of Boodah who is still settling in having just arrived home this afternoon. He weighed in at 14g today! More than double Spike! Boodah is wicked FAST and luvs jumping around his viv. He is extremely inquisitive and we can't wait until he's completely settled in and his full personality comes thru. Boodah is already very feisty and we are hopelessly head over heels in luv!

The kindness and generosity of everyone on this forum astounds me. It really is like a family here and I am so grateful for all of you. It's amazing how many wonderful friends I've made already. Thank you for your never-ending support during our trying times with Spike and for helping us welcome Boodah into our family.

Hi Jane, Sweetie does the same things, parades in front of the boys and they all go nuts. Leo, Lonzo and Didi are in a row in the living room and Rubio's behind the couch. Sweetie's in our bedroom, but she has to be able to get out & stretch her legs! Isn't it funny how the boys like to black beard & bob each other & go right for their other's "rooms" & gets them all going. Rubio is good at doing that. He'll just sit in from the credenza's the tanks are on & stare up at one of the 3, without a black beard & boy that gets a reaction. It's fun to watch males & their antics. It's also fun to see the reaction to Sweetie. Sounds like Princess is the Queen, just like Sweetie!

I really enjoyed all the pics. don't you just love the "goatee" Boodah's sporting. Isn't it weird how they shed in bits & pieces when they grow into adulthood? Lonzo has a hand that's shedding, Didi shed 1/3 of the middle of his tail. Sweetie's slowly shedding her lips and face & head. She tends to be ready to lay eggs when she's shedding. It's very strange.

Your 4 all have good weights. They all look well fed and happy. I'm so glad you finally got rid of all those parasites. I tend to agree about the crickets, which is why we only have supers. Rubio's not eating any protein yet, hopefully soon, at least a few worms a week. I'll keep you posted about his leg, it seems to be getting better. If not we'll go see the vet next Friday when I get paid. I told you how beardies get into your heart, it's uncanny.

Hugs to all of you,
Deb, Sweetie, Lonzo, Didi, Rubio and Leo.

Those pics are all adorable! I think that one male would like it very much if you decided to let him breed princess!

Oh, I bet he would LOVE it! I am not prepared to take on that responsibility tho!! Our one male, Gizmo, never backs down and head bobs with such force that his hands come of the floor! He looks like he's doing push ups. However, whenever he sees Princess he starts to arm wave like crazy! If I am not mistaken, Lance bred Princess and Gizmo while they were his so they are "familiar" with each other!

Deb: You are surely right, their antics are a riot to watch! I am sure Sweetie enjoys being the Queen. Not to be a downer but I miss hearing about Issy. Her pic in your signature is still my all time favorite beardie pic. I am glad Rubio is on the mend and we will keep him in our prayers. He is one resilient beardie and the fact that he's big and strong will work to his advantage. It is funny how they shed as adults. Boodah is shedding part of his beard (as you noticed) and one ear! He already did most of his tail and three legs!

Gizmo is always a really picky eater and sometimes I wonder how he's gaining weight be/c he never seems to eat. But yesterday he ate 22 supers! Anew record for him! Yay Gizmo!

Two new pics I just had to post.

First up, Princess with a rare black beard. She hardly ever black beards or blows up but she was cranky today!
photo-60.jpg

Then Boodah made this lovely pancake after finishing his second salad! He is a piggy!

Hi Jane, the pics are great & I can tell that Princess rules the roost. We both still miss Issy alot, it'll be a year on Apr 27. I wrote a memorial for her & I still look at it once in awhile & cry abit. She was such a sweet beardie, our smallest dragon but most energetic. Sweetie was also very upset when Issy passed, she wasn't the same dragon for about 2 weeks.
Rubio is doing better, it's going to take awhile because I think he must have jammed that leg. The joint was loose. Now it's finally getting tighter and stronger. If he runs around alot, Roger noticed that the leg drags more. He still won't eat worms, which used to be his favourite food. So he's getting Carnivore care to help with protein and salad.

As for not eating, Gizmo is like Lonzo (who'll be 8 in April!) no food one day, a pile the next day, then 2 days without, etc. Leo won't eat worms either, so he's getting the Carnivore care until he starts eating again. Last spring, when they all woke up, none of the boys ate much for a couple of months. Both Rubio and Lonzo lost 100g, Rubio made it up during the summer, but Lonzo never did. He's still a good weight, but should be bigger, he's got a large frame.

Right now Lonzo's out in the living room, doing his security rounds, you know, to get the furniture organized & for everything to realize he's the boss. He's so funny

So I'm off to take my son shopping (he doesn't have a car & he lives 15 min drive away), so I do my shopping when I take him. Works out well, I get to see him, his girlfriend Tara and their puppy Bella. She's 9 mo old now, she's a mix of Boston terrior (dad) brick red & while & Yorkie & chiuaua (not a good mix). But Bella got all their best features and she's got curly hair (not fur). She's a mix of brick red, light brown and white and is just a delightful dog. She's got a Yorkie snout, not pushed in like the dad. She's much bigger than the dad (25 lbs) & mom (7 lbs) and is getting bigger. She's also a real high energy terrier mix, runs faster than Eric, who ran track in school. So he gets a good workout when he takes her out for a run.

Give them all hugs for us, they all look wonderful.

So we are getting our new adopted beardie on Sunday! The woman is dropping him off along with his set up around 3:00! His name is "Beardie" - ugh. I think we are going to have to come up with a new name or give him a nickname.

I don't know too much about him except that he is 4 yo. Stay tuned....

Thanks Barb!!!

It's going to be 73 today so I am going to take the dragons out for a few minutes today. But that also means I will be under seige by these god-forsaken stink bugs! Ugh.

Hi Jane, I'm amazed that you're taking on another beardie! At least you'll get his set up, too. Congratulations, another male for Princess to flirt with  I hope he's in good health, but we'll all know by Monday, as he's coming to you on Sunday afternoon. I'll be checking!

I showed your pics to Roger, finally, and he thought they were great, too. He especially looked at Princess's pics, she's so beautiful and so like Sweetie, in liking to get the boys going! Bring out the black beards, bobs, stomps, etc...gives the boys exercise, anyway.

Talk to you later,
Hug's 'n snuggles

Ok so our new little beardie has arrived and unfortunately she's not in the best shape. (We think it's a female - not sure). She's never had a uvb bulb in 4 years and she hasn't had any feeders for 3 years! Poor thing. I weighed her when she got here and she is 260.9g! Her little feet and belly were covered in poo and she's been in a 20g tank with sand.

I gave her a nice soak and she drank lots of water. Her feet and belly are still stained though. What's the best way to get the discoloration off her? Also, after speaking to the Wolfman Tom (thanks for always beeing accessible and offering your expertise Tom), I feed her 3 supers and she charged them and gobbled them right down! She looked at me like, hey that's it??? I have liquid calcium here but I gotta pm tracie to see the right dose for her. I have a uvb on her already and gave her a nice salad of greens. She's also been surviving on spring mix alone.

One thing I have to say is that she is a surivvor and her spirit is strong considering what she's been lacking.

Here are a few pics:

We are discussing a name for her but I am more worried about getting her healthy and gaining some weight. She is already enjoying being out with us and she did some arm waving at Crush!

Please let me know if you have any suggestions for this little sweetie! Thanks!

Poor skinny baby. That is great of you to take her in. The only advice that I have is to take it easy on the feeders to begin with. If they havent had many live feeders recently, it can be rough on their system if they have too many to start out with.
Good luck with her and let us know what you decide to name her.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
