Even though we are still mourning our little Spike, he led us to our new luvbug, Boodah! I don't know if I am supposed to say, but we visited with Tom of TND Dragons today. He was wonderful and has the most beautiful dragons who are very well loved and cared for. Tom and his wife are so friendly and welcoming.

Here are the first pics of Boodah who is still settling in having just arrived home this afternoon. He weighed in at 14g today! More than double Spike! Boodah is wicked FAST and luvs jumping around his viv. He is extremely inquisitive and we can't wait until he's completely settled in and his full personality comes thru. Boodah is already very feisty and we are hopelessly head over heels in luv!

The kindness and generosity of everyone on this forum astounds me. It really is like a family here and I am so grateful for all of you. It's amazing how many wonderful friends I've made already. Thank you for your never-ending support during our trying times with Spike and for helping us welcome Boodah into our family.

Beardie parents: Whoa! That is one lovely dragon! Her colors are remarkable and she looks so great! I haven't seen many dragon's with that pretty golden color like Goldie Speedy has! I think you are right. I see a little of gold on our new little sweetie also. I can't wait to see what she looks like after we've had a chance to get her healthy.

Jenn: Your thoughts echo what Tom advised me. He said no more than 2 or 3 feeders a day. It broke my heart to stop feeding her though. I had her out, sitting in my lap, just watching the other beardies reactions and suddenly she darted off my lap. I thought she was going after the boys but (stupid me) she ran over to the worm tub and started head butting it trying to eat! Oh, I felt SO BAD!

I am waiting to hear back from Tracie on the liquid Ca+ dosage for her and will keeping bathing her in hopes of getting the discoloration off her feet and belly. Poor thing looks like she was running around in poo forever. I have some Ivory Soap. Can I wash her with that? No fragrances or dyes in it. Her tail is kinked and crooked at the end with a lump. Is this indicative of MBD? Her jaws close nicely and the edges are well approximated.

She is quite the little attention hound! Lots of glass dancing and scratching when we put her back. I am just glad she is eating on her own and we are going to have a family vote to name her tomorrow.

Oh, but you know what? She looks a little swollen just below her vent. I'll try to get a pic of it tomorrow to post. Hopefully it's nothing serious. Thanks for the help.

Jane!!!! I can't believe that poor girl has not had any feeders or UVB!!! I'm so glad that you got her, you'll get her fixed up fast! After a week of 2-3 bugs a day, you can bump it up a little...just do it gradually and make sure that she stays really hydrated. Not sure about her vent being swollen, if she was dehydrated it may have caused her to prolapse when she poops but that's a guess, try and get a few pics up.

Hi Jane,
What a pretty beardie, even though she's been badly brought up. Daily liquid calcium will help & the dirt will come off with her next body shed. She may still grow once she can take more food down. First she needs to poop to make sure she's processing the worms well, as she may have some digestive issues. You take such great care of your beardies, she'll blossom soon, I know. Tracie is the best person to help you. Once she poops & everything is disgested, you can gradually give her more worms. Have you tried any salad with her? If she won't eat greens yet, babyfood is a good replacement for awhile. We've been through this with Rubio, Issy and Leo. And Angel was the worst case, as her bones were very soft. So good luck with your little lady! You're an angel yourself to have taken her in, but I would have done the same!

Hugs to you and yours,
Deb

Katrina n Deb thanks so much for the advise and support. You guys are the best. I feel so bad when Mika (We finally voted tonight! Pronounced as meek-ah) sees me coming with her worms. She throws herself off her basking log and attacks the glass like she can't wait! Then she's like, no more??? I know it's for her own good and the next two weeks will fly by and then we can increase slowly. As of right now, she's eating two salads of greens a day. The uvb really seems to be agreeing with her.

She's pooed twice in the last three days, and no worm pieces yet. Her urates are soft and nice and white. She luvs her window time and she n Gizmo have been doing lots of flirting. Princess is not so impressed with our little Mika. She launches herself at the glass whenever Mika is roaming around. Lots of blowing up and displaying here. Also, I had to move Mika's tank yesterday be/c the boys had a clear view of her and she wouldn't bask. Poor thing just kept arm waving and staying on the cool side while I attended to the human kids. We moved her to the other side of the room and she seems much happier.

Here are a few pics from the last two days:
First up, Mika's vent. It's not a very good pic but maybe you can see some of the swelling.

See how discolored and stained her poor feet and belly are? Can't wait for that shed!

My Emily has been out sick for 8 days now! Took a trip to the doctor yesterday and was informed that this virus almost shut down her bowels and what little food she was taking in hasn't been digested and is just sitting there causing her discomfort and gastritis (swelling in the lining of her tummy). Lots of tears over the discomfort. Today I was only able to get her to eat half a piece of toast and 3 spoonsful of applesauce, poor thing. She is drinking though. Slow and steady progress.

Anyway, not sure how great you'll be able to see Mika's vent swelling. I will try to get some new pics. Started the liquid Ca+ today for little Mika. She's warming up to her baths now. She is shedding (which is remarkable considering what she's been thru).

Mica is sure a pretty beardie under all that staining. Just the fact that she's pooping without any issues says you can give her an extra worm now. And eating 2 salads a day? There is nothing wrong with her digesting. I sure enjoyed the pics, but couldn't tell you what that swelling is all about. I don't think it's anything serious, unless she pushes out some pink tissue when she poops, that's what a prolapse looks like.

Hope your Emily feels better soon, some virus's can sure be nasty. Glad to hear she's slowly eating & that she's drinking. Wish her good healing wishes from me, please? Looks like Crush is helping her with her healing already!

Keep doing what you're doing, Jane, I think after a few weeks, you'll think you have a brand new beardie! She really is a cutie and very fiesty. She's probably having a great time arm-waving to the boys, too.

By the way, the pics all turned out really well.
Hugs

Hi everyone!
Deb: Thx so much! I can't help but to worry sometimes about poor little Mika. She seems to be doing remarkably well tho. Emily is finally feeling better. She missed 9 days of school! I am so glad to hear Rubio is feeling better and using his right foot. He reminds me of Gizmo looks n personality wise! I loved all the new pics you posted!!!

So far, so good with our newest addition, Mika. She gained 35g this week! Her skin doesn't seem to hang as loosely anymore. She is fitting right in around here. She is a little skittish when approaching her viv but she is really sweet and easy going. I don't think she is used to all the attention she is getting these days. Mika is definitely enjoying her baths now. Yesterday she pooed and while I was refilling the tub, she jumped off my arm and dove into the water! Her diarrhea is still pretty bad but I am thinking this is to be expected be/c of her spring mix diet before coming to us. She is gobbling up her greens and eats her worms with relish. She even seems to be getting a little belly (pic below)!

Princess is no fan of Mika! She is vying for the top female position. Lots of black bearding and head bobbing. Mika arm waves all the other dragons and doesn't seem to interested in being dominant. Mika has taken a liking to Boodah though! Crush has been doing alot of pouting this last week. I have to pull him out of his hide every day or he won't come out at all. Gizmo is following in Crush's footsteps. Lots of laying around being lazy.

Boodah is back to eating 2 salads a day. I thought when I bought my scale we'd be all set but seeing as it only goes up to 600g and Boodah is already 551g, I guess I'll need to buy another! Boodah is 20' long now. I need to measure Crush after his bath today.

So here are my new pics: they are from my phone so they aren't the greatest

Hi Jane!

Congratulations on the new girl Mika...poor baby. I'm so happy she's doing well.

I'm also glad to hear that Emily is feeling better. :D

Thanks for all the new pic's. :)

The stain on Mika's underside should lighten up with a shed, but you could use a soft brush on the really bad spots. Sometimes it takes a couple of sheds to get that gross dirty poopy sand stains off.

Again Congratulations!

Hugs & Snuggles!

Hi Jane, how are you all. How's Emily, is that darned bug gone yet? I sure do enjoy pics of your scaley, furry and human children! Thanks so much. I just realized it had been a few weeks since your last update, so let me know how you're all doing. Roger's still having difficulty with getting the flu, first he had stomach flu, that trailed on for 3 weeks, then he started having fevers & aches in his joints. Now I'm the same only without the fever. And here I thought I got away without getting anything much this year!

Hugs to you all, hope you're all ok,
Deb

Hi Jane, how's everyone? Loved the last batch of pics, Mika is doing well & I can see her little belly! I'm so glad she likes you!
Hope Emily is still doing well after being so sick. Roger's now been hit with a flu that's taken all his strength away. He's a bit steadier but still not 100%. I had it too, but was over it in a week. It's the flu that attacks any weaknesses in the joints, and as we're both arthritic, Roger worse than me, it hit us like that.

Our babies are all ok. Didi's UVB light started affecting him, so we got him a new power sun 160. He finds it too hot, so I've put it higher, but he's still not eating & doesn't want to spend alot of time under his new light. Time for the vet, I guess, as it's been 3 weeks.

Rubio's leg is completely healed & he's got his appetite back. He's now 806g  and he doesn't look fat either, but you have to use two hands to pick him up, he's so long bodied.

Sweetie is spending alot of time shedding, so hasn't bothered with eggs! YEAH! So far, anyway.

Leo is still full of spring fever, he black beards anything, everything & goes really nuts if Sweetie's in the living room. He's a very fiesty little beardie!

Lonzo is now 8 years old & is still very active, when he's not sleeping or napping. He still runs around the living room, doing security checks everywhere & he still likes to cuddle. He also enjoys getting Leo & Didi going when he's out.

Hope everyone is well at ypur home,
Deb

Hey guys! Sorry it's been so long but you know how it is, life just suddenly shows up sometimes!

Deb: Thank you for checking on Ems. She is doing great. Ended up losing 7 lbs and she's so skinny she really couldn't afford to lose any weight. She looked like a skeleton for awhile there! How is Roger? I hope he's bounced back from his flu.

It's been absolute paradise here with my beardies! Princess, Gizmo and Mika are all moved into and settled in their new enclosures. Everybeardies eating, pooping, basking, etc. Appetites are great! Activity levels are awesome. Mika is doing wonderful. She is still a voracious eater. She eats everything I put in her dish! I planted a garden this year and have been growing my own greens. Mika's getting WAY chubby (see pic below) so I've cut her back to six worms 3x/wk. She weighs 430g now! She really likes to flirt with Gizmo and he returns the favor with lots of head bobbing and black bearding which is funny be/c before Mika came to us, Gizmo hardly ever blew up his beard or turned it black. Now it's a daily occurence.

Gizmo suffered a bit of relocation stress but Princess just settled right in! Mika loves her new roomy home (Gizmo's old tank). Although, Princess wants to be out ALL the time now. She has only been in her new enclosure for about a month and she has scratched up the plexi-glas already!

Here's some new pics of the beardie clan:

I absolutely LOVE the Snapbucket app. It allows me to take pics, add effects and upload right to photobucket. Now if only there was a bd.org app or mobile site, I would update daily!!! Next project is fake rock walls for the enclosures.
Thanks for looking!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
