Even though we are still mourning our little Spike, he led us to our new luvbug, Boodah! I don't know if I am supposed to say, but we visited with Tom of TND Dragons today. He was wonderful and has the most beautiful dragons who are very well loved and cared for. Tom and his wife are so friendly and welcoming.

Here are the first pics of Boodah who is still settling in having just arrived home this afternoon. He weighed in at 14g today! More than double Spike! Boodah is wicked FAST and luvs jumping around his viv. He is extremely inquisitive and we can't wait until he's completely settled in and his full personality comes thru. Boodah is already very feisty and we are hopelessly head over heels in luv!

The kindness and generosity of everyone on this forum astounds me. It really is like a family here and I am so grateful for all of you. It's amazing how many wonderful friends I've made already. Thank you for your never-ending support during our trying times with Spike and for helping us welcome Boodah into our family.

Thanks for your support guys. The work load has really increased around here! Crush has turned into another dragon now that there is a lady in the house! Prior to Princess's arrival Crush only ever black bearded once, now it's almost non-stop! He wakes up with a black beard too! He's started head bobbing everything too! Right now he's head bobbing a Sponge Bob pillow - too funny!!

Princess wants to be out and about all the time. She seems to enjoy making the boys act ridiculous! As Lance warned me, she is NOT submissive AT ALL! She tries to go after the boys from time to time. Princess didn't eat her greens today or yesterday, or the fruit I chopped up for her. She is taking feederd tho. Gizmo didn't take anything at all yesterday or today. He has been running around and exploring, did some snuggling with Frankie too.

Boodah didn't eat today either but I'm just assuming once all the excitement wears down, they will all get re-adjusted. Here's some pics of the gang:
Gizmo:
He jumped out of his bath and climbed into the kitchen window:

Barbara: I am so pleased my hubby agreed to let us adopt them. As u already know, it's alot of work and I am still getting used to juggling all of them and spoiling them equally. How u guys do it with so many is beyond me! Princess has just taken over this house! She is very sweet and lovable. Gizmo is cute as can be and on the feisty side. I couldn't believe they were still available when I came across their thread. I couldn't stand the idea of these two not going to a home where they would be loved and cared for as well as Lance did, u know?

Jodi: Thanks for checking out all our pics. I am really enjoying all the craziness n antics now that Princess is here. It's just so funny to me how Crush's behavior has changed. He has the funniest head bob. He goes really slow and moves his head all the way to the floor and then as high as he can. He looks like he's in slow motion! Gizmo, on the other hand, head bobs with such force, he raises his arms off the ground! "Woofy" looks great. I am so happy he's eating like a pig for u guys.

Julianne: I must be crazy but it looks like I may be taking the entire beardie clan to Rhode Island!

Jane, I don't know how you do it! Having one is almost like having a newborn, u know all the feedings, cleaning the poop, bathing, sunning and worrying about every little thing all the time! But you went from 1 to 4 in what, like 6 months time  I can't imagine making 4 salads! Oh! and the bugs. Do you do roaches? :puke: I'm trying to pursuade Ron about the roaches. At $20 per week for crickets, I think he's softening a bit. He'll at least listen to my explanation of "how it will save us money". And the worms, wow are they expensive.

Have Gizmo and Princess eaten for you yet? I guess they're still settling in. I bet Lance is relieved to find such a good slave :D to adopt his babies!

Have you gotten the fecals back from Boodah and Crush yet? I hope they're all clear.

Sounds like Gizmo and Princess are making themselves at home with your family! You'll get used to having multiple dragons, I have 4 and you just gotta get a schedule worked out! The pics of all the kids look great!

Jodi: Yeah, we went from 1 to 4 in under 5 months! Well, not counting the time we had little Spike. We got Boodah in February and here we are today! No, I don't do roaches. I am ridiculously afraid of bugs (crix included) but the boys started to refuse the crix during all the parasite treatments so right now we are doing mostly supers. I order 2000 at a time and they last a good while. I can't touch them but they are way easier to care for than the crix. Making the salads isn't too bad. I go to the farmer's market on Saturday mornings and then I wash and slice everything. The only thing I have to do daily is finely chop the greens and add squash (for Crush and Princess) and some fruit for my big girl. The boys won't touch blueberries, strawberries or raspberries or any other fruit for that matter!

Gizmo never did eat anything today but Lance did mention that he was hiding under his log for the two days before we got him. Now add the relocation stress on top of it, u know? I'll give him a week and see how he is adjusting. He was running all about today and he played in a tree out front for a few minutes.

I haven't taken their fecals to the vet yet. I will probably take them Monday. Tomorrow I am volunteering at Emily's school.

DragonMomSandy: TY. I figure once we are settled into our routine things will flow smoothier and faster. It's just a pain right now be/c I have to steam clean the bathtub between each bath so in case the boys r still positive, the others won't catch it. I don't think they are still infected. Their appetites have returned and their stools r back to normal but u can never be too safe.

So I weighed everyone today.
Princess: 453.3g
Gizmo: 372.5g
Crush: 348.8
Boodah: 307.2

Crush is starting to fill out a bit and he is shedding his head and legs again! YAY! Maybe he won't be too small after all. Since he was the smallest of his clutch, I wasn't too sure how big he would get but he's surprised me so far! Boodah is about to shed his body and tail AGAIN. It is pretty much a never ending cycle with him!

Wow, I thought Maryland schools were the latest to get out. I guess not. The boys' last day was this past Tuesday.

I took a look at my first superworm the other day and scary! I think they're more creepy than crickets and roaches combined. lol. I think I read somewhere they can only be fed to a dragon that is like 16 inches long or something? Can't remember. I may just give them a try because my mom absolutely refuses to feed Luther crix but can handle worms when we're on VACA.

So yur considering taking all 4 babies to the beach at RI. That will be a task with all the other stuff to be packed. I can't imagine leaving Luther for 6 days :(

Have a great weekend!

Hi Jane,

I bet you're even busier with the kids off school for the summer. I seem to recall you were going on a vacation, but can't remember if you went or not. Hope all is well and that your 4, count them, 4 beardies are in great health. Any update?

I wanted to introduce our foster beardies, Loiosh & Diablo, known as Didi and Dino. We found a thread in General Discussion, a young woman who lives close by, was going to Japan for a year to work and needed a temporary home for her two dragons. So we told her we had lots of room and made arrangements for the end of June. In between we moved from a 2 bedroom apt to a 1 bedroom apartment. The old owner decided he wanted to sell the place and there was an empty 1 bedroom avail right away, so we made a deal and moved to the 1 bedroom. We lost 200 sq ft of space, but it's better kept and on the 3rd floor instead of the 4th (top) floor. The living room is the same, so now we have 3 boys's tanks in the living room, side by side, and Rubio's 75 gal is behind the couch. The bedroom's big, too, so we have Sweetie's tank beside my dresser and Loiosh's tank at the end of our bed. Squished but managing is what I call it!

Hope for an update soon, are you getting the heat wave that seems to have settled over the east of Canada and the States. We have it too, it's been 95F in our living room by afternoon and Roger's been turning off the MVBs earlier than usual so the dragons can really cool off.

Talk to you soon,
Hugs,
Deb

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
