best mercury vapor bulb brand?

Hey ,I was wondering what would be the best brand of mercury vapor bulb ?

Probably the ZooMed PowerSun 160 watt.
Solar Glo Professional Series isn't really bad, the UV is good just the bulbs quality could use some work.

I'd like to know this as well. I was wondering if there have been any meter testing done on the powersuns. I know the solarglo tested inconsistent and possibly dangerous. I'm on my last months with my megaray and I really don't want to go to a reptisun if I don't have too. I prefer MVB's.

Michael i found the info here. http://www.beardeddragon.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=127476&start=180 It seems like some people are still having issues with them. However someone did say they are using the power sun 160 watt and they love it. I would like to see some test results for it. I have a 6.2 solar meter. So although I can see total UVB I won't know if there are harmful rays that can cause eye issues.

I'm just nervous about mvb's currently on the market with all the problems they all seem to have. I don't want to change my whole set up when my megaray final gives out if there is an alternative. :? I'd really like to have a light on hand before it goes out.

I also had issues with the 100 watt powersun... really put me off them and then, by the time I finally plucked up the courage to go back to MVB's they all seemed to have gone crazy.

lilacdragon usually has results on the different bulbs. You could PM her and ask her for the info on all of the rays produced by the 160watt powersun. The problem is the fact that it is only the 160w that seems to have been reading ok. You could probably ask her for a breakdown of all of the bulbs available

The Powersun 160 gave me temperatures of about 103-114, a bit hot in a 40 breeder. You can get a light stand that will hold it higher up so you can better achieve more proper temperatures but, my knowledge of the bulbs were in a room that has 4 other enclosures in it, 5 total. So your experience may be really different. Ensure this bulb is 12-14 inches from the basking spot.
