Hello, im Celestyne and i have a male beardie, Axel, and i was wondering if anyone could help me find a vet near me that cares for beardies. I live in Sturgis, MI. (Usa) 49091. If anyone can find anything that would be amasing!

How far are you able to travel? I would first check out this site for any nearby listings and double check with the vets to ensure they have dragon experience. http://www.anapsid.org/vets/#vetlist You may want to check out Northern IN as well since you're so close to the border. You may have some luck over near South Bend.

You can also contact a regular vet and ask for a referral. Sometimes independant pet stores will also have vets they can refer you too. I think there is a reptile rescue in Ann Arbor, they may also be able to point you to a vet.

Alright. Well the only one i know that does take beardies is an hour away. If theirs an emergency then the distance might make it too late. Atm my beardie is constantly in shed, hes about 4-5 months old, 10 inches long, but he just got done with shed, and hes in shed again. What worrys me is that on his back ankle it looks like hes shedding, but his actual scales are comming off. I soaked him in warm water to see if that would help and when i dried him off i looked at it and i could see red, he wasnt bleeding but i can see his skin from under his scales like, theres no scales covering the skin there. I do help him in shed, i do pull off his shed skin but only on his toes and around his eyes beacuse hes had trouble seeing during his shed and kept running into the sticks and the toes beacuse i know its hard for them to get the shed from their toes Off and it can cut off circulation so when it starts flaking off i help pull it off but ive never pulled the skin from his ankle so idk whats wrong with him. :(

Do you have a picture of the ankle? Is it possible he skinned it on some of his furnishings?

It's usually not a good dea to help them remove skin, it can damage the new skin if it's not ready and I'd think also it could painful. If you must, after a warm soak gently rubbing the area with a soft toothbrush or q-tip will help loosen stubborn bits.

Is it giving you trouble uploading the photo to the image manager? Or are you having trouble moving it from the image manager to the thread?

I'd welcome other thoughts, but based on that photo I don't see any damage. It looks like there is a rough, uneven shed along the ankle but nothing that jumps out as a concern to me.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
