Bath

For some reason when I try to give my beardie a bath he jumps a lot and acts kinda crazy. The water is barely warm and there isn't a lot. I usuelly do it in the sink. Has anyone had this?

I would say try the bath tub because he make not like the metallic reflections in the sink or the enclosed space feeling... One of my bearded dragons dislikes a bath in the sink but dos much better in the tub. Also, try warmer water. Our bearded dragons seem to be happier in really warm water. Hope this helps!

unfortunately we don't have a bathtub. I) have to see what I can come up with. Maybe a baby bath would work or something like that.

I use a small 8 inch high tote for Harleys tub. Harley used to HATE baths when she was a baby. She did the same thing with jumping and acting like it was an acid bath. Try to let them sit on your hand to get used to it assuming your dragon trusts you to begin with or put down a wash cloth in there so they have something to grip. After a while they usually calm down and like now, Harley loves baths and actually splashes her legs around in there sometimes like she is playing.

I use a turkey roasting pan as a bathtub. It's big enough and portable. It's easy to fill, empty, and clean.

I use large litter boxes for my bath bins.

It gets the job done, although, sometimes when he really doesn't want to be there, or when he decided he is done, he will climb out by himself. :roll:
