My basking lamp is on and the rock gets very hot is this okay? The direct heat is about 110 but the rock is much higher

Get a lower wattage bulb and, increase the distance between the bulb and, the rock. Surface temps are what you aim for. Babies and, juveniles require 105 to 110 degrees while adults need 95 to 100 degrees. I your case some tweaking is going to be needed and, fast, we don't want a cooked dragon!!!

Hello,

Be sure you are using a digital probe or a temp gun, for the most accurate readings of your
temperatures.

Or get a much lighter coloured rock if the existing rock is dark coloured.

Or move the rock so it's not directly under the basking globe.

Of cause , moving the globe further away from the rock or a getting a lower wattage basking globe will also work.

Hi Finn, I saw your other post that says the heat bulb is 200 watt. Be sure to replace it right away, that can kill your dragon when the high watt bulb is suspended down in the tank. I did reply on your other thread. Hope all goes smoothly with your new baby ! :)

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
