Basically, any of the Gerber #2 Baby Foods are fine, with a few exceptions....those that I've found. that my three seem to like are the Gerber #2 Chicken Baby Food and also the #2 Beef, although the beef is a bit harder for them to digest, as it isn't as bland as the chicken The squash is very good for them, as well, as its loaded with fiber, and most of them seem to like it. The Sweet Potato Baby Food is also high in fiber as well.
Any of the Gerber #2 foods made out of green vegetables are fine, as is the applesauce and pears,as far as fruits are concerned, however you should never feed them any sort of citrus fruit, or citrus juices, as they don't tolerate the citric acid very well. Bananas are also acceptable, but feeding them too much of that, too often, can sometimes cause them to become constipated. Also, if your little one is still very tiny, I would not offer the bananas until he gets a bit more size to him, since bananas can be a bit hard to digest. Also, you should never feed them the baby food yogurt, as the can't digest any sort of dairy food properly, and and it may make them sick. Many of them also will accept fruit juice from a feeding syringe, as a special treat, but, again, stay away from any sort of citrus based juice, and you should only allow them to have baby juices that are low in sugar. Apple juice seems to be a favorite that is readily accepted.
Those that you don't want to feed, as they can cause problems for them, are Carrots and Spinach as they have too high of a level of some vitamins, which can affect how they absorb nutrients from their other foods.
While feeding baby food as a special treat is fine, as is using baby food to force feed them when they are ill and may need a bit of extra nutrition when they are off their food, it should NOT be fed on a regular basis, every day. About 70% of their diet, when they are babies and growing so quickly, should be live feeders, such as crickets. Giving then 70% of the protein that they need by feeding baby food would have way too high of a fat content for them, which isn't good for their kidneys or their livers as they get older.
If you go to this website: BeautifulDragons.com , you will find a very detailed, printable list of all the foods that beardies can have, as well as advice on how often they may be fed, and their nutritional content for a bearded dragon. It will also provide you with a list of things that they shouldn't be fed, as well. I think you will find it very helpful in planning your little one's diet.
Hope this information helps!
