Baby Dubias Climbing?

One of my female dubias recently had babies. I notice when I take all of there egg crates the babies instantly start crawling up the sides. Is this normal?

Babies can climb a bit, they are not very good at it though. Are the sides of the bin smooth?

Yes the sides are smooth

They shouldn't be able to get out easily. But if you want to make sure put smooth packing tape around the top of the bin, they can't climb it.

Thats pretty messy, but it would probably work.
