Yeah that's the way I would go if I were in your situation.

I'm not sure scissors will work though. If it is indeed the same screen i have it's a fairly tough wire. You might be able to get needlenose pliers to pinch the wires together and open up a hole big enough for your zipties. Alternatively you could probably stretch it with a small electronics screwdriver.
For the scissors i should have been more articulate, i wasn't envisioning actually cutting the wire, just using the pointy side to poke through to make s hole 😁

That is a perfectly valid method, but personally I'm like a walking disaster looking for a place to happen though, so I'm better off avoiding sharp objects lmao 🤣 😆

its alright lol i got it all sorted out. hes also eaten a lot more today than he did the other couple days and has been a lot more active!
That's great to hear. In my, albeit limited, experience baby dragons can eat a truly shocking amount. Plan on having 50+ feeders available daily and you'll make a lot less emergency trips to PetSmart to stock up than I did. Ordering in bulk online will likely save you a lot of money in the long run. I get most of my feeders from dubiaroaches but there are plenty of other reputable places to choose from.

Keep offering salads. It sounds like he's already eating some which is great. I think it's a lot easier to keep them in that habit than try to establish it when they get older. Lots of stories here about stubborn dragons refusing greens well after the age they are meant to subsist primarily on plants.

Post any questions you have. There's plenty of things you may run across I'll know absolutely nothing about, but there are plenty of kind and experienced people here who have helped people with issues I didn't even know existed.

And if you have the time photos and updates are always appreciated. I know I'm not the only one who looks forward to seeing your baby Dragon grow and thrive in your care.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
