im putting water on his greens
That's good. If he eats moist salad he will likely get most or all the water he needs that way. If he doesn't you'll need to find another way.

Dry chalky poo or urate means he's not getting enough and can back him up and stress his kidneys.

Letting a couple BSFL crawl around might entice him to hunt them while you watch. They are slow enough you can wait a while for them to catch his attention without dissappearing somewhere.

Working up to handfeeding is a good way to get him comfortable around you. I also found Beebz ate a lot more salad from my hands than he'd take from a bowl when he was a tiny thing.

You can use a hobby knife or pair of scissors or even a butter knife to make slits the zip ties will fit through.

It looks like symton enclosures are rebrands of the same type sold by dubiaroaches.com. that's where I got mine.

If so the enclosure should have come with 2 mounting bars that screw in with 2 screws each under the screen. Here is a link to a page with the instructions.

Is it possible you still have those bars around somewhere?

Sorry my forum app is being wierd about marking up the posts I think I got the link fixed I'm attempting to attach the instructions as a pdf also.

You may be able to order them but I wouldn't want to wait to get the uvb fixed. The dubai roaches claims the screen blocks 43% of the uvb which means he's not getting much at all until you fix it.

*edit* the pdf is too big for the forum. You should be able to get it from the link in my above post though.

Yeah the 48 is too big and going to be a pain to provide shade and more expensive to replace bulbs

A 24in fixture (22in bulb) works well and is the most common size recommended. I use a 36" fixture (34in bulb) for that size enclosure but only because I already had it, I would go with the smaller one if I were buying new.

That also allows you to replace the bulbs easier. I have to order mine shipped as petsmart only carries the 22" at least near me.

Yeah that's the way I would go if I were in your situation.

I'm not sure scissors will work though. If it is indeed the same screen i have it's a fairly tough wire. You might be able to get needlenose pliers to pinch the wires together and open up a hole big enough for your zipties. Alternatively you could probably stretch it with a small electronics screwdriver.

same story here

for hanging, you can also try picture wire or something like that which would be strong but small enough to fit through the holes.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
