This is seen in all Dragons contrary to what you may have read. It is a sign of submission. Basically what they are saying is "please calm down, I do not want trouble" or "you are the king and I am not worth the fuss." Most people believe that if you have two dragons in view of each other that the one that waves is the female. This is not 100% accurate. I have seen the males wave to the females. When two males are within sight of eachother one will sometimes wave to the other.

They actually don't even need to beable to see eachother...they are pretty amazingly smart little creatures and know they are there even without seeing them. Not all will still communicate when they can't see another yet one is there...but I find that more do than don't in my house. My beardies can not see each other yet only one doesn't partake in the conversations so to speak.

When one can see another because they are out roaming it's not uncommon for the more dominate male to head bob the other and go psychotic in his viv...while the less dominate one could very well arm wave and give the little head bobs which almost look like a female does.

Head bobs, black beards, an arm waves can't be used to tell the sex of a beardie.

Have you tried to sex your beardies yourself? http://www.beardeddragon.org/articles/sexing/
If you are still confused as to what they are you could post a pic
with their tails positioned like in the pic in that link and we would
be happy to try and help. :D

Yes I have been trying to tell there sex the one I think is a male is only 7 in long so hard to.tell but he has small side bars and I think I can see the two bulges on his.tale. the other is still pretty new and skittish but was checked.multiple times from the breder and thought to be female

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
