Hi,
I was wondering if it healthy for my bearded Dragon's to have a black tongue, but only at the tip?

Is it normal to see your dragon's ribs or are they to skinny and how many meal worms should I be giving them a DAY?

How old is your BD? How long have you had him? I've only had mine for 6 weeks or so. I am by no means an expert. I do know that meal worms are not good for your Beardie because they have a shell on them that can cause your BD to become impacted (unable to poop). This can actually kill them. They need things like crickets, Dubia roaches and soft bodied worms like calci worms. They also need veggies like different kinds of greens and squash, ect. As far as being able to see its ribs... I mean kinda. Usually it's hip bones you don't want to see. This site is soooo helpful. You should browse some of the old posts. They can be very helpful. They have helped me a ton!!! And the tongue thing, I don't know. All the ones I've seen have pink tongues. But, my experience is not vast. I suppose it could be a genetic thing. I had a dog with black spots on its tongue. :D

Ok, so I looked at some past posts for ya. According to what I read, it could in fact be genetic. However, if it is causing them to not be able to eat or appears to "grow", it could be something called mouth rot and you should have them vet checked. Which, since you rescued them, may not be a bad idea anyway.

A dark tip on the tongue is completely normal. Mealworms aren't very good, try feeding crickets instead. If your dragons are adults, they can have 10 adult crickets a day plus greens and veggies. If they are babies, they need as any insects as they want to eat, twice a day plus greens.

You can normally see their ribs a bit but they shouldn't be prominent. Can you post pics?

My bearded dragon is around 6 months or older, I can't tell it's a boy if that matters. He eats so much and he has a big belly towards the bottom, it's close to dragging the ground, but near his arms you can see his ribs. And I don't mean just like one, you can count like 4 in a row. He eats around 20 large crickets a day and always has a handful of greens. Couple times a week he gets a full variety salad. With 5 or more nutritious items. He has right temp, uv and calcium.
He poops every single day, and their like really big piles. He has a great appetite and active and spunky.

He shows no signs of health problems other than seeing his ribs. Why is this? What could be the problem. I've had him 6 months and has never gotten sick. Even when he sheds he doesn't ever lose his appetite.

I also give him waxworms because they're high in fat.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
