Are Exo-Terra Cages worth it?

I have my current basic aquarium w/ a screen top. This was about 80 dollars altogether. I found the 36 x 18 x 18 Exoterra cage on sale for 159.99. Is it worth the upgrade? What do you think?

No. You can pick up a tank of that size for less than $50 if you shop around.

Do you have an idea of where? I have searched several places online, including craigslist.

Petco quite often has their $1 per gallon sell, where you can pick up a 40g breeder (the dimensions you listed) for 40 buck + tax.

Buying online will cost a fortune just from the shipping aspect alone.

If petco isn't currently having that offer, you might have to pay a bit more, but 160 is ludicrous IMO for a 40g breeder.

I got my current aquarium through that. I paid 40 + tax which came out to about 11 dollars. Plus I bought the screen top at 20. So actually I paid 70 or so.

I know last weekend Petco was doing $1 per gallon. Aqueon 40 gallon breeder + a mesh top (petco brand, folds) is a pretty nice setup, currently using this exact setup for a red eared slider, have all the lights up front and can use the back folding half to open up to do quick spot cleans and remove old food.

The front doors of the exo-terra are nice, I have my beardie in one, but it's not worth $160, let alone full MRSP especially when the mesh top that comes with it sucks and was replaced with the Petco folding mesh top... so in reality... it's either $160+20+taxes at the store, or MRSP ($200?)+ 20+ taxes at the store.

I like the way mine looks better than an aquarium however there is a plastic cross across the screen top and if the light moves at all it melts the plastic. It is extremely stupid feature but I hate the way glass tanks look.
