Hi, Perseus was born on 1/1/13 so he is 4 months old. He eats 100 medium Phoenix worms a day, is this too many? I'm sure he would eat more if I let him

Phoenix worms should be offered as treats only.. Crickets should make up 70% of the dragons diet along with 30% being veg and fruit. As he ages, this diet should change so as veg and fruit make up his main diet. Feed as much as he can eat in 15 min. or so. Don't forget to add his vits and minerals to assure proper balance for health and nutrition . Good luck

Actually, Pheonix worms can be used as a staple from what I have read and heard from many experienced people.
I believe they have more nutritional value...

Yes I've read that from here actually. Phoenix worms are actually healthily and do not need to be dusted with calcium, just multivitamin. Does anyone know of I'm over feeding him?

The rule for feeding babies is to allow them to eat as many live insects as they want in a 10 to 15-minute period of time, two to three times per day. It's important to not restrict babies because they need protein to support growth during their first 12 months. Breeders tell us that beardies will not overeat when fed according to the formula above.

The need for protein feeders will diminish when dragons reach adulthood. At that time, you'll be feeding 80% salad/greens and only 20% live feeders to maintain good health. Phoenix Worms with their naturally balanced calcium and phosphorus provide exceptional nutrition and a great start for all babies. Many customers report that their beardies have brighter colors after Phoenix Worms are added to the diet, too.

Thank you for that information. He definitely seems to be happier since I've been feeding him phoenix worms. He goes nuts when he sees the container! Some days he will have 1 feeding of medium phoenix worms (He eats around 50 in one sitting) and one feeding of crickets(Around 50 in one sitting). If he eats Phoenix worms both feeding sessions, he will eat a container of medium Phoenix worms, which is 100, but I'm thinking of switching him to solely phoenix worms with no crickets

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
