I just pulled out my gecko's water dish and found these under it:

They are hard and look like they have legs.

Anyone know what they are?? I'm afraid of them. They look like some mutant worm species...

I asked on deviantART and the one guy said that they are mealworm pupae. I just hope they don't hurt my gecko if there are more in there...

They won't hurt your reptile. Mealworms/superworms do that to turn into a beatle. They got stressed out and turn into that alien looking thing also known as pupae. If you dont throw them away they will turn into beatles. Should try to breed them :D

should try to breed them....famous last words. What we do for our little beadies..... Just let me say that those are the weirdest things I have seen, did you touch them? LOL I would have probably used the tweezers and made girly noises the whole time!

They just turn into little black bettles and roam the cage. Ive had the happen a few times. I would throw them outside for the birds.

Okay ! Juuuuust checking ;)
By the way, have you tried roaches as a feeder for the geckos ? I have 8 leos, ranging in age from 3-4 months on up to 4 year olds, and they all love roaches. The feeding frenzy is awesome, tiddler tails a twitching ;)

I kept picking them up with tweezers and making the girly noises. o_O I wouldn't touch them even if I was paid. XD They look too vicious. :puke:

@ zebraflavencs & CZ4A: I'm not feeding these things to anything. o_O They look like they'd tear apart my gecko in 2 seconds.

Not the aliens.... the actual meal worms themselves ;)

Yepp, I feed my gecko mealworms. Not the dragon; he has enough problems, I don't want to add impaction on top of them.
Hm... But how did the aliens get under Africa's waterdish? Do two mealworms produce beetles...? o_O

If you put them in as meal worms and they turned into the pupae then you left them in the cage for quite a while. It's just a life cycle. It goes Egg, Mealworm, Alien, Beetle. So on and so forth. Also as an alien they just wiggle around. They dont eat or anything. I wouldn't feed them to my rep. anyway because im not sure how much chitin they have at that point.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
