here are my girls they got here around 3:00 yesterday. They are both doing well and after waiting so long.... it was well worth it.

Thanks Lsorrent,she's playing queen of the hill right now. She's sitting on her basking rock with her head held high and inspecting everything!! She's very pretty and very inquisitive.She wanted to roam all over the place last night,but I wanted her to get used to us first and have a bath,she was in her box(getting used to it for travel off and on all day Wednesday and then didn't get here until 3:00 yesterday so she needed some water,she drank a little from her bath and then soaked for about 30 mins.

Thank you Barara!!! I feel very lucky to have ended up with 2 such pretty girls!! It was hard waiting on them to show up, I had waited so long,actually since about April to be able to get a beardie,but I had to have the money to go get Alf's tank etc... the Gina surprised me by asking to send My Timmy a gecko so a friend gave me a 10 gal. tank. As soon as I can get back to Bristol,I'm gonna up Alf's tank (she's ina 29 gal right now because the day we went shopping I wanted to get some Christmas presents too and didn't get the bigger tank) to a 40 gal breeder or bigger and switch freckles over to the 29 gal. I just wanted Alf to be able to be home by Christmas. I can't wait to get bigger homes for them,I can just see little tiny freckles in a great big tank and poor Alf will have so much more room to roam!! Hugs for waiting so closely with me and bearing up wonderfully under my impatience.

Oh wow, Alf has gorgeous coloring, just look at that beard color. She looks so nice & healthy & her eyes are taking it all in. :love5:
Freckles is so sweet and the name is perfect, did Timmy name her? I didn't think you'd be able to pull off keeping the secret until Christmas. But, you have all waited long enough, I know it was hard but it made it so much more special.
We enjoyed sharing this wonderful waiting experience with you and I think it made a little easier for you, hope so anyway.
Their tanks look so nice & neat, don't be surprised if they scatter their greens around though, which beardies especially like to do.

I hope that snuggling with us means she likes us!! If so we have a family beardie! Each night for the last 3 nights,she has laid on one of our belly's to fall asleep. She lays down then does this little snuggle thing with her head as if making a comfy spot to lay her head and next thing we know she is asleep.

I do have a concern though, Alf will not use her basking rock. She did fine for about 2 days,now she wants to crawl under her basking rock(platform actually,it's a raised platform on 3 legs,the space below is big enough for her to hide uner comfortably) I am worried that she is not getting enough UVB. I have a digital thermometer with a probe,temps are 105* hot and 84* cool. Any help would be appreciated, I have been removing her rock/platform for a couple of hours each day is that ok?

She may be having a little relocation stress.Some beardies do tend to hide and you have to remove the hide to keep them basking but I did notice your cool side temp is high.You may want to try lowering that a bit.It should be 75-80 that may be why she is going under the platform.

Thanks Vicky, When I take her out for her bath and morning romp,I'll recheck temps and get the temp down a little. She stays under her rock unless I remove it so I've been taking it out for part of the day but will work on temps.
