Check out these awesome Bad-Boys! Unfortunatley I have been told that in there Genetics it is not possible for them to live past Juvenile :\ But never the less - STUNNING!

If these could be bread, and survive, these would be top of my list! I recon they would come with a whopping price too :)

They do look cool, although I have to take issue with anything that is bred for a degrading genetic disorder to try and make it look good... But it is a shame that so far there has been no survivors.

Agreed on both points.

If they were healthy, I would love to have one. But if breeders can't figure out what it is that is simultaneously causing albinism and killing them, then it's not worth trying to breed that look. A life is more important than appearance.

...But if they could manage it in a healthy, thriving beardie, wow!

Is that what kills them? Is it that they can't absorb it, or absorb too much, or can't stay under the lights without damaging their skin, or...?

Albinism is something I know very little about.

UVB is sunlight. At least put simply. (which all dragons need in large amounts)
Albinos cant be in the sun for any time without doing severe damage on a cellular level. At least thats always been my understanding of how it goes.

Oh... DUH. Should have figured that out. I know UVB is sunlight, but never stopped to consider that a bulb could cause the same problems as natural light for an animal that can't stay out in it. Having a slow morning today, clearly; need that second cup of coffee. Thanks for the info!

I don't really think it's right for people to keep breeding them so I hope it doesn't continue because the fact they can't survive, they're just being born to die so it's sad, but they are beautiful, it's a shame they can't survive.

basicly albino reptiles that need lots of sun (beardies, iguanas, frillies etc.) and because of the lack of pigment they eventually die of a super bad sunburn-cancer death or MBD because people dont let them have sunlight

but nocyurnals and snakes are fine being albino since they dont need much sunlight or any at all depending

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
