My precious sweet babu arrived today and has me wrapped around his tiny tiny tail!

First look at the little guy (his first look at me too, LOL!)

Pancaked out and darkened up under his lights.

He drank some water from a squirt bottle and ate about seven dubia just a few hours after arriving. He's the most adorable little thing and even if he's a bit shy now we are going to be best friends and have wonderful adventures together. <3

My sweet babu is almost seven weeks old. He is a sunburst tangerine hypo according to his hatch certificate. He was hatched April 28 and his parents are Dheyy and Knyte from Rio Reptiles, so he's got some serious good color coming to him as he matures. I'm so excited to see him grow and develop.

If you ever want a dragon, go to Cheryl. I can't say that enough. She's been incredible through the process of picking out a baby and helping me get going. beardeddragons.co

I have a million names in mind but I can't decide on one yet. I love Cheryl's naming scheme of using a "y" and some possibilities I've thought of are Veyron, Soveryn, Royal, Phoenyx, Drayden, Tornado and Skywalker. But I feel like I haven't "hit" on the right one.

@Esther19

That is awesome! As you see I have a leopard gecko named Fred! However my Fred is a girl, LOL!

@Spike1etta

You are not going to regret it! Are you getting a baby from this clutch by chance? I really wish I could keep in touch with all the other people getting my dragon's siblings. :D
My Fred is a girl too.... Except she’s a beardie... :shock:

Anyway~ LOVE your new baby, and his setup! I also like your snakes.
And Zoey... THEIR ALL SO CUTE!

What a beautiful beardie!! Sounds like you've got things figured out and glad for you that you have a new love... sleep tight baby...

@hoopyscoopy Haha, how about that! :D Thank you!

@jacody Thank you! He slept with his head in the corner of the tank last night, it was so cute.

Little guy ran and hid under his bridge when I woke him up by turning his lights on this morning, so I left him with a bowl of salad. We'll see if he'll eat any more dubia today when I go home for lunch (his and mine). I think he's still rather freaked out.

I had to dig Zero out of his cave this morning. He was kiiiinda grumpy, but way too tired to do anything about it. :lol: I just got the stink eye.

I'm trying out the name Dellingr, or Dellin for short (or maybe Dellyngr/Dellyn) to see how it fits him. It's a Norse name of a god that personified the dawn/sunrise and it means luminous one or shining one. :)

Dellin pooped again but didn't eat any of his salad and seemed too worried about me standing over him to eat any more dubia. I left some in a bowl for him. I dripped some water on his nose and he drank just a little but then he shook his head to get the water off and ran away from the dropper. I think he's a bit scared of me. I know that's normal though. Mostly he just wants to bask.

I'll still feel better once he's eating solidly.

He did eat off the tongs just fine yesterday, but then again it was right after his trip so he might have been really super hungry.

Good luck getting Zero to eat, too!

He is such a beautiful baby!
It's moments like these that makes me want my third and final baby (before I start rescuing beardies) to be a breeder one. Paul does too, but part of me can't decide between that and going back to Petco again. I love his colors.

Bless you for doing rescues! I love rescues but I was worried about it being my first and really needing the support of a good breeder and healthy dragon. I could do rescue with snakes or geckos but right now I just want my perfect little schnookums to eat, LOL!

Well he finished the day not having eaten any dubia though I think he took a bite of salad. I caught him gaping for the first time under the lights. He also became quite active for a bit and ran around his cage. Then tonight he started falling asleep in his bath so I took him out and wrapped him in a shirt I had worn. He fell straight asleep and didn't even wake up when I put him back in his cage, and he's still sacked out on it. So so cute.

I am used to hunger strikes - after six years with a ball python you get used to the mantra of 'as long as they're not losing weight' - but I am so nervous with this precious tiny baby. I know it's just relocation stress but I will feel so much better once he's eating.

wow what a beauty! Congrats! I've had Apollo for 2 months now and he grows quick. Apollo ate right away too and then didn't for a day. He doesn't like to be watched. Walk out of the room, or cover the whole viv up, all around in sheets of paper. Then every few days remove one until he's comfortable with the surroundings.

Thank you, and thanks for the suggestions! I work so actually I can just put his food in and leave, I'm feeding him greens in the morning, dubia at lunch and dinner (or that's what I'm offering anyway.)

Sweet babu – whose name is probably not going to be Dellin after all, it just doesn’t fit him – was falling asleep in his bath last night so I took him out and put him on a shirt I had worn and he fell asleep and stayed there all night till I turned his lights on this morning. Then he hopped up to bask and hopefully eat some of his salad.

covering the whole viv isn't just so he doesn't see you while he's eating, it's also so he doesn't see the huge room his viv is in. He has some relocation stress, so keeping him with no view for the first couple of weeks will help him feel secure and reduce the stress. Slowly removing the papers will help him gradually adjust to his new depth of view.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
