    Out of tank time

I take mine out pretty sporadically when I'm around in the day. Sometimes they come out a lot in a day and sometimes they don't come out at all. Although at night we always take them out and sit them on a pillow covered with a blanket while we watch TV. Usually spend a bit of time with them...

    Time for costumes!!!

Gotta find Mungi's dragon wings from last year. Although he may be bigger now lol. May need some fixing. I want to do new costumes for my rescues who I got in November 2014. The boy (Mookari) has come a long way from the emaciated beardie he was. Time to dress him up lol. I need two ideas!

    Climbing skills

One of my adult males still climbs very well. Branches or other heh. I had to remove the screening over the terrarium sides and the grate I was using so he would not get hurt. He is a silly boy. My other rescue does not climb and my male I raised stopped too. Well he tries to climb the bedroom...

    Care for one lone hornworm

I've heard that but I'm not entirely sure I'm convinced. My old supplier would include enough food for two days with the worms but at a higher price point, they always seemed to last a bit longer. The new supplier doesn't include food (they come with a bit of chow in the box but not sent...

    Care for one lone hornworm

I find if you don't have the chow they don't last long. They'll gut load on butternut squash but a few days later they start to pulsate which means they'll try and pupate soon. I have stopped buying them for now as I'm waiting on the next reptile expo so I can hopefully score some dry chow. My...

Can i handle my bearded dragon the first day i get him?

Before you put him in his new living accommodations give him a ten minute handle. Some dragons take to re-homing better than others. My mature male was already very skinny when we got him and didn't eat for a good 3 days. We only took him out for baths until he started eating to minimize...

My male rescue just won't eat anything veggie/fruit.

Hey guys. I got my first Beardie back in May. His birthday (hatchday?) is April 20th according to the breeder. He's pretty much the perfect dragon. In late November we adopted two new dragons. One of them (Opal, the female) is quite healthy looking and eats her greens. She has some battle...

If this behavior doesn't stop, I'm going to have to rehome!

Yep, just rehome him instead of fixing the problem. Sounds legit.

    Is tap water okay?

This is true. Consider if you're area generally has decent tap water or not and decide from there. Filters are quite inexpensive these days. I know the water treatment plant is quite good here. Tasty water! I phoned and they don't use chloramines either, just chlorine. Which means you can...

Mungi the Beardie, a diary of growth and bonding.

Mungi tried to run up to Opal on the bed and assert his dominance LOL. Insta-boy-black-beard and crazy head bobbing, thankfully I'm a ninja and Mungi did not get close to Opal.

    Lazy Beardie

To be honest even after a month I don't think Mookari is eating enough of his veggies either. Opal seems pretty good with hers and my one I raised from a baby (Mungi) clears the dish. But Moo seems to do the "kick around" thing somewhat as well. It can be hard to tell because with natural...

    Lazy Beardie

When we got our new rescues one of them was quite lethargic as well. He was quite dehydrated, the vet I talked with recommended 50/50 water and Pedialite (sp? brand names throw me off) for his baths. He actually drank from the bath when we first put him in which was pretty awesome. :blob8: I'd...

    Interesting info about morphs, etc.

Thanks, that's a very interesting link! Is it true Albino's do not survive?

PLEASE HELP BEARDED DRAGON KEEPS OPENING HIS MOUTH WIDE

My Mungi and Opal do this to regulate their body temperature. What's the temps like? Maybe he finds it a touch too warm?

    Lazy Beardie

Lukewarm, like a babies bath. Yes he might be brumating. Sad he's always lived in a 20g =(. How's the lighting/uvb situation?

    Exo-terra products

That is super awesome as well. In the Summer we took Mungi out for real sun as too =). But now it's sooooo cold brrrrr lol. Props on doing the best for your beardies  seen to many owners who just don't care. These forums make me happy in comparison :blob5: .

    Exo-terra products

I agree with this, the MH bulbs are alright if you want to go that route but reptisun tubes for uvb are my favorite as well.

    Exo-terra products

Exo-Terra is pretty decent. I prefer Zoomed for calcium supplements and buy Herpivite for vitamins. We have some exo-terra dome light fixtures and no issues, as well as dishes and hides.
