petco is garbage here, 3-4 inch dragons on sand, mealworms, and poop everywhere. we have a nice pet store that is devoted to reptiles and fish. he has every reptile you can think of and each one is well taken care of. i almost walked out with a frilled dragon the last time i went.
haha i love taking mine out before he sleeps and letting him wiggle his body trying to get comfy on my chest. it's so cute. then hes out fast asleep even if i pick him up.
they make dimmers, i'm sure possibly a hardware store may have one to help with the heat so you don't have to turn it off. i'm sure someone could chime in on that. they make a lamp that they sell at pet stores with a built in dimmer as well.
i took my water bowl out as well. mine never even...
as long as you got the temps you are good! just ease him into everything. hold off from handling and bathing for about a week let him take in his new home. i made the mistake of moving mine around a lot because i was so excited to have him lol. made the adjustment period longer and he was...
i placed my uvb light inside the tank with my guy. i used velco stick on thingys that i found at home depot. that way its atleast 8 inches from him. how far is that uvb from him? it's really not the mesh it's the distance that concerns me. stress marks could be from anything. your temps seem...
is the 150 a focused bulb or just a regular household? i wouldn't really spray his plant because you don't want humidity to rise and the water can cause bacteria. best way to keep him hydrated is misting him, or placing droplets of water on his nose and having him lick it off. also make sure you...
150 will be too hot, i used a 75 watt in a 20. i use a 100 watt in my 40 right now. but you do have the dimmer which is good! i wouldn't move him/her into a 40 gallon until he gets a little bigger which won't be long. i moved mine in when he got around 10 inches. I also did not care for crickets...
He is a little piggy. No problem eating at all. Thank you for letting me know. I was concerned he was a little skinny because hes getting longer but he is gaining no mass lol.
mine has never napped, but he does start to try to fall asleep right before lights go off at night. They should not be sleeping a lot, there might be some health concerns. Usually babies are active and watching their surroundings.
Jericho is 4 months old. 14 inches and 125 grams. seems a little light? he eats healthy, 2 meals a day of crickets as much as he will eat. up to 50-60 crickets a day on average. plus he eats some greens daily.
looks like it might be a shedding thing. mine moves his tail weirdly when he is even close to shedding. size i don't know might be a little small but all beardies are different. looks like a healthy guy!
About to shed, they pop their eyes out to loosen the skin around their eyes. they will darken up their skin before they shed. they look almost dull. mine usually sheds his tail first then head, legs and body last.
have you checked by his/her vent by pulling it's tail straight up. usually a male you can see two bumps where the tail meets it's vent. females will be smooth. the waving is a submissive thing females usually do. like males will bob their heads.
