Help! Issues with Beardie's vent area

Just a suggestion, I have a separate tank to feed my dragons in That way the crickets can't climb on them and bite them. I do offer veggies in the tank that they live in though. For measuring the basking spot you can use a digital thermometer with probe or an infrared temp gun. Accurate readings...

    bowel movement question

I don't know why but mine have never eaten fruit no matter how hard I tried. For veggie variety I did carrot greens, celery greens, and dandilion greens. Now at first I picked dandelion greens out of my own yard. I don't know if it came from the yard or from the crickets but the next thing my...

Wow I thought my dragon fat! Now that's a happy tummy! I can only speak my humble experience, my dragons went through a phase where I could not get them to eat greens at all. I just kept offering the greens then one day they just started eating their greens again. Maybe they feel like I had...

Do you think this is mouth rot?

I'm not as experienced as Tracie but I never had my male over 104°in his basking spot. At 10 months he went down to 100°. You said the cool side was upper 80's. I don't let my cool side get over 82° because a bd cannot cool itself below ambient temperature. I have 2 years experience. Tracie has...

    brumation

I have heard of dragons brumating at weird times of the year.you can hold his head out of the water to soak him. He can take in water through his vent. I read they don't absorb water through thiet skin and misting is primarily to help shedding. I would take him to a vet to make sure its...

    Yellow Fungus?!? Please Help

I found my IR tempurature gun at Sears. It is used for thermal redings off of paint. It works great for spot checks. It reads differently on different colors and materials so digital therm w/ probe is still best.

Dino's YF... Rest Easy my Lil' Friend :'(

I was just thinking. I wonder if you haven't defeated the respiratory problems and now may have a second infection. I have read before that when they're sick thier immune system is low and so they can pick up other issues. Has the vet done a fecal float to rule out parasites like coccidia or...

    Beardie not eating!!

I only have 2 years experience but I was reading this thread and I noticed some things that were not asked. Are the beardies housed together? They should not be because 1 will dominate and will eat most of the food. Nothing is said about humidity. Humidity should be between 30 and 40%. When I am...

New baby bearded dragon owner, Help!

How are you measuring your temperatures and humidity? I use both the dials you stick on the wall and a laser temperature gun. The dial on the side of the tank gives you a general idea of the temp. but used mostly for the humidity. Laser temperature gives you specific temp. Humidity between 30...

PLEASE can someone help .... iv now ran out of ideas

The female sounds like she is going to shed. Keep her in seperate tank. What is humidity? Needs to be around 35- 40%. When shedding they can need more water than normal. It seems she is crawling into water because she needs it. Does her skin look wrinkly? To induce poo for a fecal float I bathe...

    Beardie wasnt moving

What are you using to measure temperature? I recommend infrared thermal gun that can be bought at sears. temperatures need to be fairly accurate when you're reading them.

    Beardie wasnt moving

I wouldn't do a 9 month old temperature higher than 100 degrees. in fact when my dragon was that age he went down to 97°. Keep humidity around 35- 40%.

    Beardie won't stop rolling

Did the vet check his ears for an ear infection? I read on here 1 time where a dragon was rolling and it was an ear infection.

    Unusual head behaviour

I recommend you take this dragon to the vet. it sounds like a upper respitory infection due to the billowing throat and the sides of the lungs squeezing tight. check the humidity does not get too high. 35 percent is best.
