    Full spectrum lighting

The blast on my florescent hood died so I'm looking to replace the entire setup. I'm interested in getting the Fullight TrueColor. They mention on their site, Gather that's because if you want to dim the light way down, you need the right type of dimmer otherwise you'll either get noise or...

Question on digging spot for the BD

Been wondering the same things as my Beardie exhibits digging behavior just before it goes to sleep

beardy dont eat crickets at the exact time?

Agreed. What lead me down this path was a cat we had a few years ago who suffered from feline hyperesthesia. After spending $$$$ on vets and having home consultations from pet therapists, one of the recommendations to keep her happy was to give into her hunting instincts and hide her food-dish...

beardy dont eat crickets at the exact time?

I've been wondering about the practice of imposed feeding schedules on Beardies. The conventional wisdom seems to be feedings at set intervals (probably rising from owner lifestyle and historical pet rearing) and for many, feeding in a separate container where the Dragon isn't given a real...

looking for a new 40 gallon viv please help

PetSmart - on sale now for $187 + there was a promotion that took off another $30 or so. http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4070851 BigAppleHerp also carries it. I like it enough that when and if the hinges do break, I'll buy another one.

    Insted of crickets?

See http://www.beautifuldragons.503xtreme.com/Nutrition.html Per their analysis, Phoenix Worms can be a daily staple and are "good source of calcium." Phoenix worms are Black Soldier Fly larvae and go by other names.

    Phoenix Worms

Thanks for the concern but I've seen so many varied feeding behaviors posted throughout the web that one pattern doesn't fit all. He was the first week chomping down 20 cricks a sitting, but never hit a number like 60. I feed him until he ceases to eat and ignores the crickets around him...

looking for a new 40 gallon viv please help

Just recently replaced my 40 breader tank with a 36x18x18 Exo-Terra Makes it so much easier to live with my Beardie. Alas the hinges are plastic and I can't envision this lasting more than 2+ years. I may do a full review later.

    Water Bowl?

I've wondered about that practice - how healthy can it be for them not to chase and hunt their pray as they would in the wild? Granted that the wild does not equate to the healthiest reptile, but does giving your pet the "life of Riley" make them healthier and more content? I remove crickets...

    September Stuffy Sweetie-Cutie

September is the name I gave him after the month he came to live with us. Stuffy is the name my daughter gave him. Sweetie-Cutie is the name my son gave him. So "September Stuffy Sweetie-Cutie" is it! Though no one calls him September anymore - just Stuffy Sweetie-Cutie or Sweetie Stuffy-Cutie.

BD wont drink from bowl! Help me...

When I first got my beardie I held a dropper up to his nose, Now he knows what to expect and will drink up to a six or more drops at a time before he stops. Bad habit. I'm hoping to to slowly entice him to drink from the bowl by holding the dropper nearer and nearer to it.

    Hand sanitizer

I always wash my hands after handling our pet and then on occasion I'll use a hand sanitizer. When my three year old handles our dragon, I always have him hand-wash and sanitize as he doesn't like me helping him hand wash and he doesn't do a good job of it. My daughter likes helping with...

    Cricket proof your carpet (w/pics)

Interesting idea! This might be a suitable and inexpensive alternative http://www.amazon.com/Brown-Acrylic-Felt-Wide-Yard/dp/B001P20Y8U/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1289591263&sr=8-2

BTW, what size is your tank? I've been looking for a brown mat for my 40 breeder (36x18) with no luck. I can only find green.

    Responding to locked threads

Hi There are a few threads which I wanted to post to which have been phpbb auto-locked. Gather from what I read that the lock parameter is set to 30 days (per this thread that's locked viewtopic.php?f=8&t=132001 ) which keeps newbies like me from revising them. Should I just start a new...

I run a forum and I made it Tapatalk compatible. It was pretty straightforward - you created a directory to host the tapatalk code and made a small change to the phpbb code.
