Just a quickie snapshot I grabbed when I saw him doing it the other day :)

    Bearded Dragon unboxing - DEAD.

Was the box marked with a "This side up" marking? I'm wondering if the beardie might have somehow gotten upside down, since they can't breathe that way. From your description, it sounds like it probably wasn't an impact problem - more likely stress, temps or getting placed upside down...

    Bearded Dragon unboxing - DEAD.

Unfortunately, you do have to expect the occasional loss of a live animal during shipping. Sometimes it's nobody's fault - they may get overstressed, overheated, too cold, etc. How was the snake bag secured within the box? If it was just rattling around in shredded newspaper, that's not a lot...

To creeped out to feed him silkworms?

Silkies make something more like thread, not like a then, sticky spider web. If you don't like the feel of that though, just get a set of tongs and use those. Your dragon will thank you. :) Supers are great once your dragon is over about 16" long. They are interesting to keep because they...

    Foamy mouth? Please help!!!

With the AC out and the high humidity in Florida, a URI is a very high likelihood. As others have said, a vet trip is in order to get that checked out and/or treated before it gets worse.

    New dragon questions

Absolutely need a new bulb. Not only are the ReptiGlos not that great but the 5.0 is way too weak for a desert animal. I also hope the tube bulb isn't the only light, as he needs a basking bulb to bring the basking spot temperatures up. You need a good digital thermometer and/or heat gun to...

Adopted adult male jumping at UV light

Is your light in a reflectorized fixture? Mine is, and Dash goes nuts when he sees himself in it :D

    50 crickets a day??!

Definitely get the basking spot warmed up to around 105 F as that's important for digestion. That could be affecting her eating. Are you sure she's not getting ready to shed? What makes you think she has a fungus? Have any pics you can post?

Is Vivvi big enough to eat phoenix worms yet?

Should be able to handle Phoenix worms easily - they are relatively small and soft-skinned. You might not like them as much as they are going to be very expensive if you're intending to use them as your staple feeder.

need help please, new user and new beardie

Easiest way, IMO, is to open a free account on Photobucket.com. You upload the photo there, and they will give you a link to copy and paste. You then click the IMG button when you are writing a message here and you should see pop up. Insert your copied photobucket link between those 2 image...

need help please, new user and new beardie

As others have stated, you need a white basking lamp to replace the infra-red one. You should throw that away as it's useless for beardies. Your UVB lamp should be a long, tube type, not a coiled bulb. In Europe, a good bulb is the Acadia 12. I'm not sure if you can get that in SA. You...

New Beardie Owner needs feeding advice

Definitely some kind of live feeder every day, two or three times a day. Crickets should be dusted with Calcium + D3 about 5x per week, and with a multivitamin like Herptivite 2x a week. Phoenix worms do not need dusting as they are very rich in calcium, but a little pricey. As Brandon noted...

Vlad may be getting spoiled on worms....

Supers are fine if that's what he wants - I feed them quite a bit to Dash, who is just over a year old now. I give him 3-4 in the morning and again at night. He would eat more, but I don't let him so he takes his salad more easily. If you haven't tried them, hornworms are also great and Dash...

How to pick up my beardie

I approach mine from the front or side where he can see me, and get my hand under his belly. When I pick him up his front legs curl over my index finger and I get my forearm beneath his tail. Once he feels supported, he settles right down.

How many Phoenix Worms = 1 cricket??

I doubt it's quantifiable - too many variables. You should be dusting your crickets with calcium, so then how much calcium sticks to each cricket? Probably no way to know. Phoenix worms are good because they are calcium rich and easy to manage, as compared to crickets, which are generally a...
