    Different Behavior

I have two concerns for Alvin. He is 21 months old. Concern 1 He has acted as if he wants to go into brumation so I let him hide out and sleep and I just turned off his lights. I gave him a bath once a week as suggested and the first time, he went didn't want anything to eat and went right...

    Shedding Again!!!

Ok I thought that as they get older, they slow down on shedding. Alvin is shedding AGAIN - this is the fourth time since December. He turned 1 year old on 2/14. Isn't this a lot? Is there something that causes them to shed too much?

    T-Rex Light

The directions say min of 12" for 100W T-Rex Active UV Heat. Does that mean that my beardie can not be any farther away than 12" or can't get any closer than 12"? Thank you. Christine

    Less Protein

So when do Beardies decide they rather have more vegies than protein? At what age is that "OK"? Thank you.

    Concerned About Alvin

Ok it has been awhile since I have posted about Alvin as things have been going pretty well up until the last couple weeks. He has always been a lazy eater (I have to feed him everything (my fault as I started that when he was little). But he has been a fairly good eater in that he will eat his...

    Small Meal Worms

I went to the pet shop to buy some Superworms for Alvin. He is 18" and has been eating them since he was about 16.5 inches with no problems. Well the petshop told me that they quit carrying Superworms as they bite and were eating right through the containers they had them in. They told me to buy...

    Needed Calcium

I was wondering how many butter worms/day it would take for the needed amount of calcium for Alvin. He eats butter worms but I was wondering if I should also dust his crickets. He is 13" long now and about 130 grams. He is going to be 4 months on the 14th. Thank you. Christine

    Super Worms/Phoenix Worms

Alvin won't touch the small superworms I got him and he won't any longer touch the Phoenix worms either since he got a taste of the Butterworms. I have about 300 medium Phoenix worms and close to 400 small Superworms. If you are interested in them, please PM me. Christine

    Help Parasites

I took a sample of Alivin's poo in to my regular vet and asked her to run a check for parasites. She called me today and told me he has coccsidia and pin worms. I am so sad about this. She says she isn't familiar enough with reptiles and referred me to a good reptile vet. However, I have read...

    Butter Worms

Can butter worms be used as a staple? Also, is size a big concern like with crickets since they are soft?

    Small Super Worms

I saw that Mulberry Farms now has Small Super Worms (3/4" - 1"). How long do you think a beardie could be for these? Is 11" long enough?

    Quit Eating Crickets

Well Alvin is 3 months old tomorrow and I have had him for 1.5 months. He gradually went from eating 6-7 crickets a day to 60 a day. Now in the last couple of days he doesn't want anything to do with them but he is eating some vegies (not a whole lot) and he will eat a worm if I give him one...

    Update Pics of Alvin

Hi Here are a couple new pics of Alvin. He is supposed to be 3 months on 5/14. He is about 12" now and weights 55grams I think. Does that make since? What do you think? If he is that old, would he be small, average, or big do you think?

    Overweight Beardie

Hi. I took Lil Alvin to the store with me Friday to see if one of the staff there (she is a breeder) could make sure the sex is male since I already named him. Good for him, she thinks he is a male but will be able to tell better in a little while as he is only 2.5 months old. Anyway, she said...
