Needed Calcium

I was wondering how many butter worms/day it would take for the needed amount of calcium for Alvin. He eats butter worms but I was wondering if I should also dust his crickets. He is 13" long now and about 130 grams. He is going to be 4 months on the 14th.

I was told that the butter worms would need to be dusted as well, if he eats the same as he would do crix it shold be fine, if he eats a little less, perhaps a 'big' pinch to dust them instead of the normal??

Just an idea, but hopefully some one can give you a more definative answer!

Sorry to butt in on this thread but I was wondering the same thing but with phoenix worms. If you give one feeding a day in phoenix worms, do you still have to dust the other one feeding? I am guessing you do but where they are so high in calcium I just wasn't sure.

If you are using the butterworms or the phoenix worms as a main staple feeder....you would want to decrease the calcium supplements. In other words, if that is the only feeder you are using you would want to only dust about 3 x a week instead of 5 x a week.

I am feeding phoenix worms in the morning and roaches in the evening as staple feeders with butter and hornworms as treats...
