    I also have worms!

... it's cheese crisps/chips. After opening the package, just thought... OMG! They look very much like pupated mealworms or pupated superworms. So. very. much. (If you never had a pupated one, look it up ;))

    out of service

Yes, he's temporary out of service when brumating ;) (Disclaimer: had only put in the sign for taking the photo when I had to open the enclosure nevertheless to water the plants, and I removed it right after. Brumation is his thing he needs to do and I won't disturb him.)

    his other wormgiver

Just brought Taco over to my husband to spend a break from computer gaming :D (Taco likes both of us, but I'm handling him more and my husband is a bit hesitant with animals. 5 minutes after that photo, Taco wanted back to me, likely as I "dare" petting his face *lol*)

    A "good morning" from Taco

"Good morning, dear wormgiver" ;) No, today it's dubias, and you get a new stone to secure your branch as you have become heavy, guy! Love this a bit funny photo that somewhat overestimates the size of his head :D

    Morphs with more spikes?

I was wondering if somebody knows whether there exist morphs with more or more pronounced spikes than usually? So the opposite of silkbacks and leatherbacks. I'd guess just like some people like the look and feel of a dragon that's smoother, some might like extra spiky ones. (I would ;)) And it...

    a watchful eye

My big Chilean boy Taco, back after his short brumation, back to one of his favorite activity: blending in and watching. (Down there is a military recinto, and he can see the ocean with sometimes fisher boats going by. The other side is a balcony where he loves to watch me caring for the plants...

learnt behavior: sleeping at basking spot?

Usually, Taco sleeps in a deep cave he dug himself between an aloe vera plant, the climbing background and a stone. Once in a while (I'd say once in 7 - 14 days) however my dragon seems to sleep on purpose at his basking spot. He's not "trapped" by suddenly the light being turned off (timer...

Where do they get parasites from?

First: I don't suspect that my dragon has parasites, or generally any health issue. It is a general question to get a bit more information about what might come during the hopefully long live of my dragon. Where do they get parasites from? It is clear to me that some parasites can be...

    colormatcher

I'm always surprised how well Taco can match the colors of things in his enclosure. Friends often think I made the enclosure exactly his colors, but no, he was chocolate brown with grey as a baby :D It's crazy how well he matches the ochre-orange marbled with white and the almost purple sand I...

    No Halogen anymore - replacement

So far I'm using as basking lights a Zoomed ReptiBasking Spot 100W and a halogen flood lamp 100W from the hardware store. With that, I get the temperatures right. It looks to me right now like here (Chile) the halogen flood lamps aren't sold anymore (I have one left as replacement). The hardware...
