I have been so sad for you after reading about Digi, I am so sorry you lost her so suddenly.
Please do not think that you were not a good mommy, because you were & she loved you dearly!
I am quite sure that she is watching over you, too.
I have often read that butterflies are kisses from God, or being touched by an Angel. So I totally agree that your vision was sent from Digi letting you know she is safe & happy. You will most definitely see her again.
She was comforted in knowing she was with you & felt safe to pass, with you.
Her soul will always be here, just like yours. We are immortal & so are they.

I had been told in the past that seeing a butterfly flutter close by meant that someone who had crossed over was visiting, that it was to send the message that s/he was well. For some reason, I never put much thought into that; maybe it's because I never had someone pass away who also took a piece of my heart with them, until now.

Months after my Rottie, Moose, passed away, I "saw" him lieing on the bottom of the stairs, smiling and looking very healthy, then he ascended the steps one by one until he disappeared. Then I dreamed that he came back as 8 newborn puppies, each one having the same markings and colors. The last dream I had of Moose was when he appeared sitting in front of a huge golden gate among the clouds. He looked so strong and healthy, and had on the biggest smile on his face.

When Hallie passed away, I only had one dream of her, and it wasn't a good one. I dreamed that I was still sitting on the floor with her, cradling her head in my lap and comforting her while she was still in a near comatose state. Suddenly, her body started to 'flicker' and she was morphing into another dog. After a few seconds, the flickering stopped and I no longer saw Hallie in my lap; instead, Zim was now where Hallie used to be.
I never got to say goodbye to her, nor see her whole and healthy and happy again.

So, seeing a butterfly appear with Digi in my vision didn't connect the dots for me at the time. But since Mary brought it to my attention, it all makes sense now.

After seeing Digi again, so healthy and so happy, I found my peace and have accepted that she's gone, but only in the physical form.

I know that, one day, I will see all of my babies again, and we will have the grandest of reunions.

We all will, and it will be the grandest of reunions.

I completely agree, we will see them all again and have the best reunions ever. :love5:

How is Pookie doing and the rest of your clan?

I loved Pookie's Thanksgiving costume, Gina, hope he's doing well and so are the rest of your crew.
Mine are pretty well asleep by 1p lately, except Nathaniel, he's up until about 3p. Gets dark so early, guess that's why.

Squirt had been MIA under the blanket. I wake him up on Sundays to hydrate him; he won't eat though.

MoMo had made a quick appearance yesterday. She not only poked her head out of the cave, but both of her eyes were opened as well. Unfortunately, it didn't last long, but she did show her happy colors.

Gianna had also been hiding deep inside her cave and would periodically peek out just shy of the opening of her cave. However, to my ultimate surprise, she was perched high up on her tree branch when I woke up this morning. Not only did she bask, but she also made a huge poop and ate a few pieces of greens. She hung out for about a half hour, then suddenly she slowly and quietly made her way back into the cave.

Pookie had been doing exceptionally well. He had been eating nearly every other day, whether it's Cheerios or worms or even greens. He hasn't been napping/sleeping as much, but would get ready for bed about an hour or so before lights out, which is perfectly normal. He even has the energy to fight me (literally) when it's supplement (milk thistle) time.

Which brings me to my question/speculation of the century: Could his illness had been nothing more than sympathy symptoms?
I ask this because of how Pookie acted when Digi was gravid with his offspring, how he wouldn't eat nor sleep nor do anything at all until Digi did. And the one time that she had a mystery illness (when she kept flipping over and couldn't right herself), he acted strange as well. Could he had been symptomatic only because Digi was sick??

Hard to tell, would an xray help to see if the mass is going away? Wouldn't that be awesome?

That's so good to hear that he is doing so well. I think an xray would be a good idea too. Maybe the milk thistle really is helping although he hates taking it.

Hope Gianna is up basking tomorrow morning too and stays out a little longer.

The x-ray wouldn't show the mass (especially not the nodules) on the liver; that's why an ultrasound was done to begin with. As much as I would love to solve the mystery, I just can't afford another ultrasound right now. Between April and November, I had spent $4588.40 on vet bills on Zim and Pookie alone. There may be more to come depending on how Zim does on his incontinence medicine and follow-up blood work (which I need to ask when that should be). I almost had to cancel Christmas because I just didn't think I could afford it, but luckily I found amazing personalized gifts that didn't cost me an arm and a leg.

I sure hear you about vet bills. I went through my savings last year with 5 of them sick & Puff cost me another $522. Then Leo with blood test, which was a good thing, but still. Now he's supposed to go back for a follow up but can't afford that until Feb or March, depending on how fast I get back to work. So I completely understand. It's just great to hear that Pookie is doing well, Gina.

As for Zim, hopefully you figure out what the issue is, hugs to all of you.

Glad you were able to find personalized gifts for Xmas. I'm giving my nieces and nephews a ticket to the theatre but that's it. Except for my parents, I"m taking them to a concert next Saturday. My best friend is in the community choir and they give a 2 1/2 hr concert every year, the tickets are inexpensive and my folks love it, so that's their gift this year. Can't wait. And it's a matinee, too, at 2p, so that suits them better, too. My sibs are getting cards and so are Tara and Eric. I gave them $ already to buy the kids boots for Xmas. So I'm already done, except for the cards. They'll be personalized. And depending if we're getting together for Xmas, I'll be making my grandmother's bun recipe like I normally do and some cookies, too. Guess that will have to do!

I'm glad that I only buy Christmas gifts for my parents and siblings. That's it; no exchanging for cousins nor nephews. I used to buy for one of my Aunts, but I'm not doing that anymore. So that saves me on a lot of money every year.

That's very true, Gina. I'm glad your expenses aren't very big for Christmas, you've had too many vet bills this year.

I only get for my 4 youngest nieces and nephews because I babysat them so often when they were little, and we're very close. I usually got a small bonus and that was my Xmas $. This year, they get movie tickets that I get free from points at my pharmacy, so no cost to me and they can get in to see a favourite movie over the holidays when they're out of school Their parents can cover the rest of the cost :mrgreen: My sibs just get cards $1 each, individual & I'll see about baking later in the month. The $ I get on my 2 pays in Dec that I don't pay rent, still has to last me for 2 weeks in Jan, so I have to be careful this year. I'm taking my parents to a concert, which they will love, as they took on the cost of my birthday party dinner. Least I can do & that was included in my budget. Plus the tickets for the 3 of us is $35 and it's down the street from where they live.

Otherwise, I go to my nephews for Christmas morning every year, Annika's mom & sister are there, too, so we have a wonderful time. Then I don't care if there is a Xmas dinner anywhere. It's all last minute anyway. I'll see my folks, my brother Richard and nieces at some point, too. My oldest niece, Tehya and her partner Cole are in Nicaragua until New Year's Eve, then meeting my sis & b-i-l in Costa Rica for a couple of weeks, then they go to Chicago for a week to visit her best friend, then move back into Gail and Ian's house. Gail & Ian are in Costa Rica for a month, then Cuba for 2 weeks and come home mid Feb. So I'll take Tehya and Cole out for dinner for their Christmas gift. So that covers everyone for me.

So I've decided I'm going to not use the boot today to do a few little errands, I'm going to put my shoes on & use a crutch to see how that goes. I got around my little apartment this am without even using a crutch! So baby steps, I'm just going up the street, so thought I'd see how that goes this am. I'll let you know.

Turned the page on my office calendar today and was greeted with a big photo of Pookie! =)
