Here's some random pictures of Howie over the few weeks I've had him.
I hope you guys enjoy him as much as I have :D
(Before anyone jumps down my throat about the sand, it will be gone soon lol)

Howie:

Mr.Grumpy:

First bath, he wasn't a happy dragon, but boy does he look pretty when he's wet! (noticed how much he puffed his stomach up? Wow!) :

This is his preferred sleeping arrangement:

Seejay and Howie's first official face-to-face meet:

Kind of a random one but I liked it cause you can see all his pretty colors on his back!:

Yikes! :/ Don't worry, no dragons were harmed in this adventure :):

And the last one, this is him obviously telling me to "Stop with the pictures already! Holy cow!" lol, I didn't even stage that one either :):

Sara, I don't think that you are doing anything wrong. Just remember that Howie didn't get sick overnight so it will take her awhile to rebound too. Her body just needs time to get healthy and she is already way better than she was right? (Boy, I hope that made sense) Just keep doing what you are doing, you're great at it! Hey, what kind of scale are you using and where did you get it? I need to get one too.

Yeah that makes sense. It's just disappointing to put in as much effort as I have only for her to lose weight.. :(
Then again, I've only had her for almost 2 months. I guess I just expected her to magically become healthy overnight.
She's been a lot more active since I got her, but not anywhere near as active as my neighbors beardie is.
Thanks for the encouraging words :D

This is the scale I got at Target for $30 :?

I'm still going to look around and see if I can find a cheaper one, and return it if I do.
And I actually want one with like a little bowl on top like this

So no limbs are hanging off the side like with the flat surface. That may be where the extra 4 grams went (lol)

I got one from Bead Bath and Beyond for $20. It's called the "Biggest Loser" scale. It's a diet scale. It has a tear feature so you and put a plate or bowl on top and zero it out then but the dragon. It works very well for me.

Thanks for the scale info. I will probably have to mail order one. All I have here for shopping is Walmart, and they don't have one here at this Walmart.

I have no idea...I think that my Walmart is out of a lot of stuff most of the time, it's the only one around in this area. I look everytime I go. They have other kitchen scales, just not a digital gram one. LOL I am really out in the boonies here. It's OK though. It's growing on me. All I have to say it thank goodness for the internet!

Amen Jen...amen!

Howie seems a little off today..She didn't eat anything. At all. I put her in a bin to give her crix and she sat there with droopy eyes, and a sad look on her face. I'm getting worried about her..Could she be possibly going into brumation?
I hope not! At 220 grams she isn't ready!! I'd have to say she's almost a year, if not already a year old. :?
I wish I had a beardy fairy that would magically appear and give her some super secret medicine that would make her better and act like a normal bearded dragon!
The stress of not knowing what's wrong with her, how to help her, or how to make her more comfortable is killing me!
Someone help me, I'm starting to freak out! :?

Howie had a bad day :(

"The baby poo'd in my salad, I swear!"
(This was taken a few days ago)

I just noticed she's got some yellow on the back of her head there by her shoulders

Hey Sara, Hows Howie this morning? I'm not sure what to tell you. My girl has days where she will not eat, but she hasn't been ill. I wonder about the yellow though. Read this, there is a fungus that they can get that is yellow.... http://www.beautifuldragons.503xtreme.com/yellowfungus.html I know that's not what you want to hear. Has that yellow always been there? I wish that I could be of more help to you. I know that with brumation they will stay more on the cool side of the cage and be super sleepy. I've never experienced it either though so I'm not really sure. I can say that she does look a little more run down in the pic that you just took compared to the one from a few days ago. Give her an extra hug from me, she is such a sweetie. Keep us updated on what you decided to do and good luck. Now hopefully someone with more experience will come along and give you better info.

You know, come to think of it I have found her on the cool side quite a bit, but she still basks. I'm not sure, I guess we'll see how she is later today when I get off of work. Maybe I'll put her in the tub. I'm just really worried about her :?
Here's a picture of when I first got her:

So I guess she has always had the yellow, I just never noticed it..lol.
I'll let you know how she is in about 6 hours (that's when I get off work)
Thank you for the advice :)

I'm happy to report Howie is running around her viv chasing crix ATM!
She's ate about 10-15 so far! I haven't seen her chase her crix in a while, she usually just waits until they walk past her :)
Maybe she was just having a bad day? Or maybe she missed Howie/mommy cuddle time because I was working all day?
I'm such a happy mom right now!! :D

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
