Zilla Desert UVB T8 Bulb and Fixture?Opnions please?

Hi I am just wondering if anyone can give me there input from their personal expierence with this light bulb and fixture as well as valueable information you may be aware of with this light ? ...

Hello Personally I wouldnt use that brand. It is known to start eye problems. I would use either reptisun 10.0 tube bulb or arcadia.

Will the ReptiSun bulb fit in a Zilla fixture?

It might but I don't know. You can get a fixture at Walmart for $10.

If you already have a fixture, just measure between the end slots to find out how big a bulb it takes. The ReptiSun bulb comes in a bunch of different standard lengths, so you can probably find one to fit the fixture you've got. If you don't have a fixture, you can get inexpensive ones for fluorescent tube bulbs in lots of stores. They come in different sizes, so you can get whatever fixture and bulb suit the length of your vivarium. If you want to mount it inside the tank, the fixtures designed for mounting underneath kitchen cabinets will probably work best. If you want to mount it directly on top of the tank, you'll want a fixture with the bulb recessed a little, so it won't touch the lid. If that's what you end up getting, don't forget to account for the distance from the edge of the fixture to the bulb when you're measuring how far it is from the bulb to the basking spot.

Thanks so much , my only issue is I live in such a small town , all we have is Wallmart and a Candian Tire and both dont have the fixture I would need! The fixture I have is a 36 Inch T8 ?... Does anyone know what the T8 stands for? .... Does anyone know a good site that sells both the fixture and light from arcadia , or repti-sun ? .... My next best option is to try and order it from their site * fingers crossed * it'll be listed on there , and then omg what if it isnt the right one ! UGH WHAT A HEAD ACHE!! I am now stuck with this Zilla light for another month or so , till depending on if one of the bulbs will fit my fixture ... If it doesnt I am going to need to get a whole nother starter kit! ... Another 120.00 I dont have ! ... boo! If I can find a bulb to fit, I can get it by the end of this month.... So my next question is , is this unit safe to use for a couple months?

Thanks , I wasnt aware Cheryl also sold lights and such .... I know her from getting medication and a stole sampler kit I believe you were one of the many that suggested me to her , Im going to text her to ask her , what she thinks I shld do in my siduation ( the size fixture I have and if the bulb will fit it )....
