Hi Barbara,Zak&Wheezie!!!

I'm just so amazed by Zak&Wheezie. They are so beautiful together and thank you so much for openly sharing them. It's not every day you get to blink in shock and amazement at seeing two-cutie pies packaged in one. I'm cheering for them and I think happy thoughts for them daily. :)

This was the one and only long thread I've followed from start to finish. Love, love, love the pics!

As for handicapped basking spots, how about a broad, gently sloping ramp? Something where maybe one corner of their viv has an incline that they can snuggle into. Even like a reinforced, egg-carton wedge pillow sized down for them with some repticarpet or their favorite towel to scuttle up on?

I've seen some pretty crafty viv set-ups and people have really customized their basking sites. I'm sure someone can offer a more creative and suitable solution. Perhaps a handicap ramp deserves a thread of its own?

Keep on truckin'! Love those Zak&Wheezie updates.

I mean what the heck we can potty train our cats and dogs with news paper why can't I potty train my beardies with paper towels?

I love it! good luck- once you get them potty trained, wanna come train my zoo? Sure would make cleaning up quicker! :blob5: Hi from Dragon and Tripod :)

I Barbara, nice pics. I was just wondering does Wheezie eat, too? They seem to share everything from the neck down, so just curious. The paper towel is a good idea, so good luck with them getting the drift! And we don't ever get enough pictures. I really enjoyed the pics of your other beardies, too, they're all wonderfully healthy and beautiful. We've got a long weekend coming up, so I'll be posting lots of pics of Sweetie, finally, if it works. The first time I tried, someone on here helped me and I'm glad you saw her at her best, all dressed up with her raspberry lipstick. I wish I lived closer, I'd come and visit! :D :D :blob5:

Hello can anyone do a article on Zak-N-Wheezie? I think it would make a great article on BDorgs front page.

 Yes, Wheezie eats too. I was waiting for that question scince all of the eating pic's are of Zak. Wheezie can eat the veggies on his own (actually eats way more veggies than Zak) but when it comes to live food I have to assist him. I don't know if he has a lack of interest for live feeders or if it due to the positioning of the head. :dontknow: I have to almost place the live feeders in Wheezies mouth in order for him to eat them. I wonder constantly why he is like this. But as long as he is happy I'm ok with what ever it takes. I don't need to get Wheezie to eat live feeders for them to survive the vets say. But I feel that both heads must get equal treatment in order for them to continue to be happy and survive. We try our best at keeping them from becomeing depressed.
Thank-you so much for your compliments an I am definately waiting to see some more pic's of Sweetie. Yeah I had to have help when I first started posting pic's as well. I just had to call out for the computer fairy to help. And poof she would appear! :laughing6:
Note: If you have dial-up like me it is faster to upload one pic at a time to photobucket.

 supertrisha I got the idea after we switched to repti-carpet Zak-n-Wheezie don't like to poop on it an I'm good with that. It definately would make clean-up much easier. It's going pretty good it's been 3 days sense I started with the papertowels. They're such little angels! Usually once Zak has eaten 3 to 4 good size mouthfuls of veggies while still setting at their dish they go poop. So I think that this task of potty training should be pretty easy to acheive.

 MeldiMaus Thank-you as well! I did start a new thread in enclosures this morning I hope that everyone around here can help me with some fresh ideas. As for shareing them openly I loove it! :love5: My husband has told me several times... no all of the time, that I should charge people for pic's of them, that if I did I would be a millionaire by now. But I feel as if I am a millionaire in the heart. That's something that money can't buy. :love5:

 Interesting idea!
I also contacted the Reptile magazine months ago I thought that they would be interested in an article but they have never really showed any interest.
That's why I contacted Guinness and Ripleys so that these awesome lil' guys could get recognition.

Hello Barbara and babies,
May I ask, if Zak can handle both greens and live food, and Wheezie can eat veggies on his own, isn't that ok, because they're getting all that they need? I do understand about giving them the opportunity to have equal portions, though, you are doing such a great job. They are very fortunate to have you and your family as caregivers.

I don't blame your hubby re: having some income coming in, but I still think the paper weight is a good idea. please..................................................

Come on guys, on the site, chime in :help: :blob5: :blob8: :blob5: :blob8:

Yes, it is ok! But being a mom and grandmother....up there in my age  I also believe that it's important to psycologically keep them happy as well. What I tell people that buy babies from me is that a happy dragon is a healthy dragon! Mental is part of health too. :D
And yes I must agree that some sort of novelty item with Z&W on it is a great idea. I'm hashing it thru my head right now. I kinda think that the key chain idea is pretty good too as well as the paper weight. I will be going to the NARBC in Anahiem this September I hope. This would be a good idea an a way to cut down on stress to Z&W with all of the picture takeing that goes on there. As well as make my husband happy! :laughing6:

I agree about the psychological well being of the Z+W!

I'm not familiar with the NARBC, what is that?

Hi Barbara,

I have been loving the updates and photos of Zak-n-Wheezie here, and the continuing story is part of my daily routine :love5: but Anaheim is a little far afield for me. Any chance on a San Jose show, August 9 & 10, http://www.sanjosereptileshow.com/ or a Sacramento show, Sept. 13 & 14,
http://www.upscalereptiles.com/events.html

I would love a chance to meet up with you and Z-n-W, and would definitely go for a keychain but here's another idea! Someone ought to do a lifesize sculpture of them! That way, although it's not quite the same as the real thing, we could all have our own Zak-n-Wheezie! :love10:

beardie osk the NARBC is a reptile convention in Anahiem, CA. in September. This year it's on the 6th and 7th. North American Reptile Breeders Convention our first reptile conviention was there last year. We had a blast we got to meet Nigel Marvin from Animal Planet very interesting man Z&W got him to autograph one of their pic's. We also met Dr. Daniel Wentz who has been one of my greatest sources for information in helping me with Z&W until I found all of you. :D

Lizardgrrl The one in Sac we wanted to go to last year but it's so close to the time of the Anahiem one we couldn't make it. I felt that it would be to much on Z&W to have them travel again a long distance so soon. Although it would probably be closer than Anahiem. :dontknow:
I wanted to go to the Super Show in San Diego on the 28th & 29th but that's so far for them to travel. An I should have eggs being layed about that time so that's out. But August in San Jose I'll have to consider. That's not that far and it is a good time of the year weather wise for Z&W. Me too and that's near the beach. :blob8: :blob8: :blob8:
As for the sculpture idea that's good!
I've been trying to get someone to make me a charm or something like that. Beardies have alot of detail so I haven't had any luck.

My oldest son works in a tattoo shop I told him that if he could draw them that I would get a tattoo. Mind you I have no tattos.

Thanks for letting me know what the initials meant, boy, I wish I wasn't on the other side of the US.
We all would love to see the tattoo if you get it, pics and more pics, we love it.
I'm still hung up on the paper wt. idea, it would be like we'd all have a real piece of Z+W, even though I know it would be a huge undertaking.

I don't know which one I'd like better, I like the footprints because it's really them, they would really leave their mark (no pun intended) with everyone, I was really taken back when I saw one.
Sorry, I'll get off the band wagon, :silent: but if you ever decide on something, let's us all know 8)

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
