You know you're living with beardies when...

Just thought we could start identifying things around the house that indicate a house full of beardies, i.e. You know you're living with beardies when...
while barefoot, you step on a thorn. When you remove it, it's actually a shedded beardie scale!

You know you're living with beardies when...
Crickets sing from all corners WITHIN the house!

You know you're living with beardies when...
Your refrigerator is full of worms and this is a very good thing, not a sign for a serious cleaning job!

I know there are many more ways that show others we are doing things a little bit differently! So, how do you know you're living with beardies?

I don't know the details of your tile...............but I have left-over from my bathroom remodel and just set them inside my 50 gal 2 side by side, 6 down (12 total). Wipe up the poo easily (just started laying down a folded paper towel in her usual poo zone) - easy to clean up. My Sandy hangs out on her driftwood and large rocks and stone slabs - so the smooth tile doesn't affect her. Go tile!!!!

"poo zone"? So its not just Budo's thing to go in one spot (usually)?

Poops are mostly in one area (give or take)..............otherwise she goes in her warm bath. My grandaughter and I just put a little doll bed at the "cool" side and Sandy plays around there, but doesn't mess over there. We are awaiting the persian rug (mouse pad) to put next to the bed. Such trendy decor - Ha!

I think Tiantha is referring to your post, asking what age child?
Sounds like Tiantha has children that don't seem to mind the bugs either.

I thought of a few more.

You know you're living with beardies when your bathtub is constantly filled with hide boxes, basking rocks, tiles, and mealworm bowls waiting to be bleached.

You know you're living with beardies when you feel a cricket crawling up your leg at night and you try very hard to catch it without squishing it, not because you care about the cricket, but because the beardie would love a midnight snack!

I have never been squeamish around bugs, even big, fat, juicy crickets. I even think worms and spiders and such are cute. However, having to catch 20 or so large crickets a day makes me a lot better with bugs than I was before. In fact, I was examining my new shipment of 3/4" meal worms. I picked up an especially fat one and examined it. A friend in the room was telling me about how gross they looked. I couldn't resist. I threw the mealworm. I am so mean. But that just goes to show that living with Budo has made me 100% comfortable around bugs, even when I find them in my clothes. :)

ROFL Do you really think that throwing the mealworm helped your friend get over her bug fears?!

No. It was a really mean thing to do, but I couldn't resist!
I expect owning a beardie and handling 20 huge crix (have any of you noticed that they bleed? When I accidentally grab one too hard, it oozes this gooey stuff. It smells, too.) and large mealworms every day would help with anyone's bug fears. :)

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
