I, too, thought she was doing better.

While nothing will ever truly heal a broken heart, love and time will soothe the hurt, and slowly fill the void left behind by a lost love. I send what I can with well wishes from (not so) sun-shiny CA.

I am SOO Sorry tohear of this news. I come on daily to check on her progress, and I thought you were making some. Hugs to you and your husband. Don't ever forget that Xena KNEW how much you cared for and she hung on to you and your family as long as she could!

Sorry for your loss, she was a fighter and really tried to get better. I am shocked, thought she was doing fine. I haven't been online for a while and when I checked this post to see how she was doing my heart broke. I am so sorry, R.I.P BRAVE ONE.

Dawn, I'm so sorry. I've been following Xena's struggles and I really hoped that she would pull through for you.

She really fought hard, all the way to the end. I'm still not ready to relive the whole thing, but her favorite cuddle spot was hiding her head under daddy's beard... and he had been cuddling her on his chest, wrapped in blankies & a heating pad, talking to her. He moved her up to "her spot", and she took her last few breaths. It was like she was just waiting for that last "comfy cuddle".

Carlye and CJ are both still struggling, as Carl & I are too. She was doing so much better, we just had to resolve the poo issue. I'll give more details later, but we think the vomiting episodes may have done some internal damage and ripped sutures, we think she had internal bleeding after she threw up.

Her favorite treat was my rose-of-sharon, so we're going to memorialize her there, under the ROS tree in my butterfly garden. It just seems "right" when all else seems so "wrong" right now.

Crash sat vigil, like he was telling her "it's ok". Crash seems very lost today, he keeps looking to where she should be, and then looks at us all confused.

Dawn, that is so sad but yet so sweet, that Xena had to get her last snuggles under Carl's beard. I know you all must miss her so.
I think the rose of sharon for her final resting place sounds like a beautiful idea.

oh wow.. I am so sorry. I am crying right now. I've been following this entire thread and have been keeping up on everything going on with your sweet little Xena. My heart sank when I saw the title of this thread had changed.. *hugs*
I joined this forum because I love beardies. My boyfriend has a male named Curt and I've grown quite attached to him. I suppose I am living vicariously through all of you.. but all of that aside, please know that I share in your pain, and though I am not a beardie owner (I hope to be in the future), I am deeply saddened by your loss.
