Hey,
I have a wooden viv its 4 by 2 but it is short of 2 foot high. (About 50cm). I didn't think this would a problem but taking into account the size of the light fitting and the length of the bulb itself it means there is only a foot between the bulb the floor. I would like to be able to give Lovebug an elevated basking spot at the least and I'm thinking of switching to mercury vapour bulb but thats not an option at the moment as I can't get it high enough not to burn him.
My question is, can I cut a hole in the top of his viv and use a clamp lamp? Would it be a fire hazard? I was planning on cutting it as big as I can with a small overlap to rest the clamp on. Should I seal it?
Thank you,
Lovebug and Lucy.
