SUMMARY- Superworms are by far the most common. Mealworms were voted the worst so were kicked out of the voting, however you still may comment on them. Silk worms were voted the best for you, but they are also said to be too expensive to be a staple. Pheonix worms have no common specifics yet.

I use more superworms.

(since i do not know which one is healthier or the ratio that I use I wont put anything for that)

Mealworms should never be fed to a dragon. They have to high of a chitin to meat content and thus won't provide very much nutrition and at the same time create a huge risk of impaction. Superworms should only be fed to a large 16"+ dragon from what I read.

I agree with Patrickb mealworms should not be feed to your beardies.
Adult supers should not be fed to beardies under 15~16 inches long. Most of the time when you buy supers they are adult 2 to 2-1/2 inches long. If you were to breed the supers or had access to baby ones then I believe you can feed to beardies under this size.

So I say mealworms 0 and supers are not really meant to be a staple, but you can use them along with another type of staple feeder. :wink:

Just a note Adult Supers are Beetles.

Adult supers should not be fed to beardies under 15~16 inches long. Most of the time when you buy supers they are adult 2 to 2-1/2 inches long.

But Anyway in Canada at PJ's Pets at least in Alberta you can buy small Superworms they are my staple but my beardy still loves molted & Pupa Mealworms. Which is the best way to feed them.

My bad your right adult Supers (Zophobas Morio's) are beetles. :wink:
Let me re-word that full size superworms. :lol:
They really aren't that great as a staple alone. But the best time to feed them is during the worm stage.

I use superworms as Randal's staple. Silkworms are probably better nutritionally speaking, but they're also much more expensive and harder to keep, so I use them only as the rare treat.

I believe ash is th substance you will find in..... lets just say cat food for an example it's to help break down the items that are not easily digested. Outdoor cats eat lots of things that are not easily digested if they are hunters.

Yes it is good for your beardie but in what doses I couldn't tell you. :dontknow:
