Why won't my baby beardie bask?

Quick question though, in the picture of his head about to shed you can see the red on his back pretty well. Will that color brighten as he ages or fade? I was told by the local pet store I bought him from that he most likely had one parent that was sunburst, does that look true?

That should bright as he gets older. It is possible that he has that in his bloodline but it is hard to tell without seeing the parents
