I would not bother with any of the name brand stuff for where we are mate, too bloody expensive. You should have just asked me and Carolyn on ARF on this matter. Here in OZ 90% of us use NEC T10 blacklights mate. They are around the $25 mark for a 60cm tube and output more efficiently than the name brand ones. Melbourne zoo uses them for their enclosures. Check the herpshop online if you cant locate one around the "gong". Brian will ship them to you no worries.[/quote]

thanks alot for the information mate!! Does the herpshop have t10 light fixtures also?? Do you know where i could get a fixture for this tube???
thanks again for your help

Yeah mate, the herpshop have the fixtures as well or you could also just pop down to Bunnings, they have them. All you need is a regular 2foot 18W flouro fixture for them and it's all good.

does this apply to reptiglo bulbs sold in canada and the US as well? or just UK / australia?

also i have the long 18" type does it apply to those or just the compact ones?

just bought the bulb a month or two ago. super choked.

my beardie shows no signs of harm from the light she still loves to eat.. in fact she probably just ate more of this apricot than i did just now lol.

Yes, all reptiGlo bulb, the compacts are more dangerous, the tubes it seems to be a pot luck thing, some people say they dont have problems, i myself had severe problems using them!

how old is your dragon? if it's a baby/juvenile, it should be eating way more than 6 crickets a day.

What I don't get is that, if you care for your beardie what so ever, why even risk using a bulb that " may " cause issues. That alone is enough for me. I want to use a UVB source that I know for a fact is tested and recommended. Spend the extra cash for shipping, etc - If money is an issue, maybe you shouldn't purchase a BD.

Hes soon a teen hes beard is getting black but he eats 6 crickets a day because the previos day he ate up to 10 crickets

today he ate 10-13 crickets and 2 mealworms hes really active Im not giving him more than 13 crickets because he could get over fed already with 10 crickets he was really fat.

today he also wanted to eat more than just 12 crickets but I don't want to overfeed him :? so Im giving him max 12 crickets with Calcium powder

when you say "teen", how old, exactly, is he? i'm assuming this means that he's under 18 months. if that's the case, you can't really overfeed him since he's still growing. and if by "fat", you mean that he has a nice belly on him, that's a very good thing. dragons are supposed to form nice little buddha bellies - it means that they're healthy.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
