Sinatra finally figured it out!!!!!!
Just got my first successful latching
Go figure it would be with a leatherback (he is a Dunner) not my favorite mix, but I'll take it.
Both are super saturated orange especially Ruby, and both are hypo but I don't know if Ruby has any hets. But at a minimum I'll get bright orange hypo leathers and Dunners

I forgot to mention Ruby is fresh out of brumation. 5 to 6 days now.
She has been raising hell for about 3 days at one end of her habitat, turns out the towel covering that end had slipped and she could peek around it and see Sinatra lol. So I figured I'd see what they would do.

She should start eating like a fiend pretty soon. You'll probably know if she's developing fertile eggs because of how big her stomach will get and sometimes you can even see the outline, like marbles bulging from her side.

I for sure will, Ruby is the only of my females to lay eggs, so I know she can/will.

UPDATE: sorta
Ruby has gone completely off of food 7 to 10 days now. She is as restless as all get out, she head bobs at everything now, she chases the dog at every opportunity, and yesterday evening she started digging at the floor in her habitat.
I gave her a dig box last night.
She woke up this morning, pranked with Sinatra for a few minutes then very promptly, efficiently, with great gusto and much glee emptied her dig box all over her habitat. What a lil turd lol
I'm hoping she clutches soon (one of us has gotta get some relief lol)

UPDATE: Ruby clutched this morning 22 eggs and counting.
I think she might be done, but she did wiggle like she might have 1 more. They are earlier than expected I hope they are fertile.

I saw advice somewhere on the forum on how to distinguish a fertilized clutch, perhaps @AHBD or @Claudiusx can tell us

Lots of egg-citement here , I can feel it !
So the ones that are yellow are almost def. infertile. Be patient and wait about a week, the white ones should develop tiny veins branching out from the little " bullseye ." Once in a while there will also be an infertile 1-2 that look like they have the bullseye but it's just a random little bloodspot that doesn't develop. Time will tell.
I always used vermiculite or sand, got nearly 100 % hatch rate every time. I don't like the perlite, it doesn't seem to hold the humidity anywhere near as good as vermiculite.
